Hello all,
It's been a while since I'm posted anything about FO3 Reborn, but work has been continuing on it, I just can't help myself. So yes, V9 is in development, although it's gonna be similar to V8, but yet quite different.
First off, I've been tweaking all weapons to work with RH_Ironsights. Everything from the M79 grenade launcher to the Glock 19 are now fully iron-sight supported. With iron-sight support, I also decided to enhance realism in other ways. Before I continue, let me say that V9 is primarily developed for me, and so it has a few things in it that may not appeal to the average gamer. However, I will release it for everyone here, but you have to understand that the mod is quite a bit more challenging than V8.
Now that I've done my little speech, it's time to discuss the realism enhancing features. First off, the in-game HUD is pretty much gone. Messages and the item pickup indicator still exist, but there are no more grenade warnings, HP or AP bars, cross-hairs (except when aiming down the sight in 3rd person), sneak meter, rad counter, etc. Of course, the pip-boy has been left the way it is, and it is your primary way to measure health, rads, action points, etc.
On top of that, the needs and addiction systems have been re-done to enhance realism and provide a greater challenge, also, when eating food, drinking, or healing, there is a small delay where you cannot use your weapons or pip-boy, as you complete the task. The time is usually 3-5 seconds, but it is enough to stop you from eating 20 items in your pip-boy and healing in combat (safely, anyhow).
Another feature I have almost finished is a customizable spawn system that allows the player to customize how many extra enemies they want to appear in the game world (inspired by the MMM mod). You can choose from zero to ten times, although anything over 5 is only recommend if your PC is higher-end. There is a quick video of this feature on the way, expect it in a few hours after this is posted.
VATS has been removed, as well, and action points are now used to sprint. You simply hold shift, and your player will run ahead at quite a decent speed (influenced by your endurance and agility).
For your killing pleasure, I've added a few new weapons in, tweaked almost every gun, and generally made everything as solid as possible in that department.
Now I need the community to answer me a question: how many of you have all 5 DLC packs? I was originally going to avoid the DLC for Fallout 3 Reborn V9, but I can merge them with the mod (however, if you are missing even one of them, the mod won't work). The advantage of this is that I can make the mod more stable, and integrate new features, such as weapon slots, a cover system, and possibly vehicles.
Keep watching this mod, and I promise to keep you guys updated on the mod's progress,
Adam
Great to see some news about V9. I have the GOTY edition, so I could definitely use V9 if all the DLC were integrated. This sounds like yet another reason to keep Fallout 3 installed on my computer, aside from it being an awesome game of course.
Alright man, thanks for the feedback, so far, no one has claimed not to have all 5 DLC's.
I got them all.. And a fun little meanless comment: Do it ******! :D
Alright, so far, I think that 4 people out of 4 that have all the DLC expansions.
thanks for the comments, we are working (mostly adam actually) hard to make V9 the best of the reborn mods for fallout 3 since it is 'supposed' to be the last one for fallout 3... hopefully it will be worth the wait, at least i think it will be :D
Yeah, V9 might be the last one, but I've been saying that since V6. If I get this one right, then I might just release updates for V9, instead of whole new versions.
Now this sounds perfect, Iron sights, no hud, realism, I never used VATS anyway, I mean it sounds like everything I wished FO3 was each time I played it.
Also I have all the DLC. I would suggest including all the DLC as there will probably not be anymore as this is now a mature game, meaning no more expansions. My 2 cents. Thanks!
Thanks man, I hope you'll try it out when it's released. And yeah, it's pretty much exactly what I want in Fallout each time I play it. As for the DLC, yeah, Bethesda confirmed that Zeta was the last one.
I don't have all the dlc's....but for this mod i gotta buy them ;)
Alright, sounds awesome, so far, 5 out of 5 people say do it, so without further ado, I am progressing with that part of the mod.
I have the GoTY edition :P this looks sweet I might have to turn off my weapon mod that I have no for this :P i think it was apocalypse armory, whichi I think is a very good mod :P but this just looks awesome
Have you played any of the previous versions of Reborn? And yeah, if you got V9, you would need to remove any weapon mods, likely.
nope never knw of it
you have now.
What's the password for the txt. Docs?
Please help, I have problem with exhaustion. I started a new game, and I use Mini Hideout mod. There is a bed, I can sleep there, but I'm still exhausted no matter how long I sleep. Should I try another bed? What's wrong?
I think it's likely a mod conflict.
