The Empire:

The Imperial Legion is a strong fighting force. With its vast numbers, quality training, and rigid discipline, the Legion is considered one of the best armies ever assembled in history. A set rank structure that has been in place for a long time ensures great versatility.

The recruits are outfitted with light but high quality equipment, the archers are skilled thanks to hours of mandatory training, the medium troops are stronger than most other factions and the heavy warriors have a strong balance of attack and defense.

The Stormcloaks:

Some call them rebels, others call them liberators. Their cause fuels their strength, their passion drives them forward with undying will. Having most supporters in the frozen regions of North-Eastern Skyrim, the Stormcloak ranks are filled with hardy people that charge through enemy lines like an avalanche, destroying anyone in their way.

Their initial recruits are Stormcloak supporters: miners, peasants and laborers who seen almost no battle and are therefore much weaker than recruits from other factions. Stormcloak archers are weak because Nords prefer melee combat, the medium troops are therefore excellent fighters and last tier troops are an unstoppable offensive force.

The Rift:

The Rift is covered by a forest full of mushrooms, berries and game. Majority of people living in the Rift, provide for themselves by hunting and gathering. They are regarded as the best hunters of Skyrim being rivaled only by those of Falkreath.

From their very first tier, Riften's troops specialize in Archery. Their archers are the best in the land but their melee troops leave much to be desired. The Rift employs no heavy infantry.

Whiterun:

The people of the Whiterun hold are not famous for anything. They are not exceptional warriors nor are they famed archers. The city of Whiterun however houses the companions - strong mercenary warriors that trace their legacy from Ysgramor and the Five Hundred Companions. They've agreed to help Jarl Balgruuf's army defend the hold.

Whiterun's light troops are weaker than those of most other factions, their archers are nothing special and medium troops are average at best. The heavy infantry however consists of the companions who are exceptional fighters, both in melee and ranged disciplines.

Markarth:

The Reach has never seen peace. For years the Forsworn raided settlements trying to reclaim their ancestral land. One time, they even captured the city of Markarth itself. Every resident of the Reach has seen battle at least once, if not more in their life. Having to constantly defend their homes, even civilians are skilled in combat.

Markarth's light troops are better than those of all the other factions. Their archers are average and their medium troops have a higher defense than any other medium troops. The heavy soldiers utilize the Dwarven armor and weapons found within the dungeons of Markarth. They are moving fortresses - the defenders of the people.

The Forsworn:

People of Breton origins that are native to the Reach. They live a barbaric lifestyle and raid homesteads in hopes of driving out the Nords. Such a harsh lifestyle has high demands. The Reachmen are the fastest and most agile fighters who use light armor and weapons. They are the masters of small skirmishes.

From the very first tier of infantry, the Forsworn are the fastest. Their archers are skilled and their medium troops are even faster than the light. The Forsworn have no heavy infantry.

He told me in a older comment that he expected a late January/early February launch, but that may be outdated now.
