Today we walk through "Spy in the Midst", one of the first quests in Ethas's main quest.

Hello once again, everyone!

It's been an entire two years since the release of the Creation Kit, and as celebration, we've put together something special - a 17 minute demo of "Spy in the Midst", the first main quest following Ethas's introductory sequences. While this is only a small taste of a very large project, we hope it gives you an idea of what we're aiming to achieve. We'd like to thank everybody that made this possible, especially our talented cast of voice actors that worked hard to get us lines on time. We couldn't have done it without you!

Anyway, sit back, relax, and enjoy the sights and sounds of Ethas.

Nicely done, keep it up, could be the best Skyrim mod yet!
Also I like what you've done with music score, really good work, can't wait to play it!

As do I, though I might be a bit biased. ;)

It bothered me to see the columns around 7:55 were separated from the wall, but that's just some nitpicking as the rest of it had a fantastic look.

Unfortunately it's a limitation of how the building kit and the walls kit are scaled. The pillars (which are part of the building) are not only too wide to merge into the wall properly, but also didn't match up with the length of the wall tile.

I like nitpicking like this though, half of my job is nitpicking my own work. :P

A shame but no doubt technical limitations have to factor into every decision. I must say that the church looks fantastic from afar and I'm looking forward to the finished problem, also how scripted are the quest giving such as when you walked into the inn and saw Marelus looking at the fire, those kinds of touches really impressed me. The voice acting too, fantastic.

It depends on the quest. In this case, Marelus is scripted to stand by the fire prior to you entering, that way he can have that nice surprise reaction as he turns around when you approach him. The voice actors have really been hitting it out of the park, they've all done a great job.

Also why doesn't the Valerian guardpost have a guy guarding it, if they are at war and all. Has it just not been implemented yet? That would be a great place for a game of skill in a conversation branch where you have to lie and try to not get caught by the guy or something, seemed odd and missing.

Yeah, the collision on the top of the guard towers outside of the city hasn't yet been created, so the guards would fall through the tower. :P

It'll be there, we're quite a ways from release.

looks promising, Valeria though? isnĀ“t that Aegon the Conquerors homeland from a song of ice and fire?

Someone pointed that out a while ago, but I'd like to mention it's Valyria in A Song of Ice and Fire, and Valeria in Ethas. Furthermore, I have never read the series or watched the show, and Justin's only stated watching it in the past year or so. We originally came up with the name for the city way back in June of 2011. Just happens to be a coincidence that they're so similar. ;)
