Post news Report RSS End of 2021 update!

Let's wrap up year 2021 with a small update on the project.

Greetings Bloodites!

As 2021 comes to a close I figured it would be good to give you all an update on what's going on in the world of Redux Cruo for Blood II.

First of all - I apologize for the lack of updates.
I hope you understand this mod is something I'm working on in my free time, and on and off whenever I find the time and feel like taking a nostalgia trip back to 1998 :)

Second - the mod is indeed very much alive and kicking!
If all planets align I should be releasing Redux Cruo v1.0 in 2022. Currently I'm planning versions instead of one big release - so that I can also hear your impressions and take the feedback into account.

To be honest I didn't know what to expect when I started this project, but I've been both surprised and delighted to see there are still people playing Blood II! Even despite all it's obvious issues I always found B2 a fun game to blast through. I hope that with Redux Cruo I'll be able to add something to the experience.

Here's something fresh out the oven for you to check out. Updated the Shikari to be more fast and aggressive. Also see the improved enemy skin and the new blood and gibs in motion for the first time. Also note the new, juicier gib impact sounds.

Thank you for your support, happy new year and see you in 2022!

Wow, that's a huge improvement over the vanilla Shikari (also the Shotgun fire sound is kickass). I'm hoping they won't leap over your head and stay there spinning around anymore. Christ, Monolith sure made a mess of this game.

First time I've heard of this, hope you have plans on stabilizing it. Blood 2 never ran without crashing in just 2 minutes on all 4 PC's I've tried playing it on in the last 20 years.

You'd think companies like EA or Bethesda could learn a thing or two from this game, considering B2 is a perfect early example of how rushing a game out the door can be disastrous. Even the GOG version plays just as bad and crashes just as frequently as the 1998 release, despite having been tweaked to run on modern operating systems.

I've just discovered this mod, and I loved it already.

I hope we can download and play it soon! :)
