Didn't have time for a proper devlog today, but Blender-wizard Nick did send me a teaser for his work on the game's intro cinematic.
I can't wait to see the final product here.
The current version of the game dumps the player unceremoniously into the first playable space -- we're hoping this intro gives a little more narrative context by eventually showing the main character getting abducted from its homeworld.
Just as importantly, it's also a callback to the pre-rendered cinematic intros of those 90s games we love so much.
