Hey there,
This news post is about a very early demo of the combat prototype. The goal of the combat prototype will be to create a very small game executable, with nice gameplay in it.
Currently, the total size of the combat proto is 34kb, and it only supports rendering, and selection. The game library has all the code needed to perform game actions though. It only needs to be linked to the GUI, which is the only work which needs to be done.
If you want to have a look for yourself, download it here.
Let me know how you like it!
I'll try to have a playable prototype ready by the end of next week!

I have a question, will combat truly evolve like it is described here: Moddb.com ?
well, it will largely be inspired from something like chess. But with some nifty features. For example, it's got a different style for determining if an piece gets killed. This is all determined by 4 values, which interact with eachother. For the rest, you'll have several other values. The version which will be released next week will be EXTREMELY basic. But it does the job.
Subsequent versions will also get multiplayer gamemodes, instead of only hotseat. And will also get some sort of moddability (you can define own fleets and such).
If you wish to know more, feel free to ask.
