After 2 years of development, Episode 2 for our Quake mod 𝗗𝗪𝗘𝗟𝗟 is finally here!
The Episode 2 Update includes...
- 14 new maps, including 3 bonus maps.
- 2 new bosses warding the runes of power.
- 2 new weapons with unique skill-based mechanics.
- 3 new monsters to face-down.
- 3 new powerups to enhance your abilities.
- 16 new custom music tracks by Alekswithak.
- A new Start Hub to explore.
- Episode 1 revamp, featuring new encounters, expanded levels and a new boss level.
- Deathmatch layouts for many existing levels.
Engines:
- A modified Quake engine with increased limits, transparency support, lit water support and BSP2 support is required, we recommend the latest [Ironwail].
- Also tested for compatibility in [QuakeSpasm] and [VkQuake], but they may feature minor visual issues.
- It it highly recommended you update your source port of choice to it's latest release before playing. Otherwise, expect bugs.
- Other source ports (including the official re-release port) may have game-breaking issues, and are not recommended.
I can't wait to play this. Episode 1 felt like a full game and it's amazing that this only marks HALF of the planned levels!
Thank you very much for recommending the Ironwail source port. I found its features to be precisely what i was looking for. All i need now is to create a sound mod, an alternative ambient music - and it's back to the realms of Quake
in full glory and then some.
