I have now situation not very simple, because I wanted to realize my universe in the big world. Big world, I mean, really big world in all aspects.
I tried to sent my scenarios (and you also can say, that my stories are better to call as scenarios to films, then just stories about fantasy) to people from big gaming development.
I must say thanks brother Deuce Savage that he advised me these people and helped.
But realization of my world needs money and for now I can`t pay them, because of my financial crisis, which started in this summer.
Also you need to understand that realization of my world was my dream from childhood. I worked with my universe since 6 years old and improved it over and over.
Now I have full 6 completed scenarios which can have 500 pages, if I`ll try to publish another book. But I wanted to do game like DoW or Zero Hour.
I need to ask you all like honest man. What can you think, will Donations idea will make good results? Or maybe I must wait some time?
I found people, who can realize my world but even one of their concept arts costs 60$
Maybe we will try together make donations for only one art and then check?
This question is difficult and it needs dialogue. Lets speak also there.
I need your opinions. And of course I am not trying to tell lies and just take money for myself. Its just for universe. For dream of my childhood.

Hmmm... Alex, if there are enough brothers sharing your vision, I do not see why not. But then again I know that we live in difficult times, and there are many things to consider here.
As a starter you definitely need a solid funbase.
So I suggest you should have a thorough look into how your work was accepted by your audience. And how "hot" they are.
If this first step is OK, then you can proceed into how this whole endeavour can become totally legit.
But first, see what people think of your work and how many would follow :)

Never hate the one that tells the truth to you even if it makes you angry at first because this kind of people are genuine friends that tell how facts are and not the sweet talkers that lead you into illusions
If i would have had been already successful with my ambitious projects i would have been the only one to donate to you first from all others and more than you had needed like : 2500 , 5000 even 10.000 dollars just for you for being always a good friend and respecting me like a fine man would respect me ( which i cannot say for the majority around the place ) but sadly i am not in that position Alex
All i can sincerely advise you now without any humor , is for you to try to seek to make money in real life there in Russia
The internet is shady at best in matters of getting monetary help from it
Some people even go insane and make death threats after they pay up for agreed upon transactions like i tried to tell you about what happened to me in the past and their hate persists after years even , pitting haters to this day against me cos i think i know where my issues originate from..
This means be aware from what people help you too Alex , some of them demand the help back after that or hate they helped you

Since you were first to speak honestly, I will also do the same:
BEFORE asking for donations, you need to offer SOMETHING IN RETURN. So far you haven't shown much... If you really are serious, then:
1- Get in touch with a REAL Russian-English translator, instead of using Google Translate to publish those unreadable articles; broken/poor English will only make people think that you are lazy and unprofessional. I'm sorry but this is the sad truth.
2- Do NOT compare yourself to modders about donations: modders create free downloadable content, which is what Moddb is about. Also, modders only ask for donations as an option: they NEVER post a WHOLE ARTICLE just to say: "hey, please give me money".

Some people may misunderstand... or even be suspicious about your motives.
This is normal. The world is full of deception.
I know you well, to know that you are indeed in need of donations. And that you are no fraud.
Others, do not know you.
Also, this is a very good way to see who is your friend and who is not - based on our brothers' responses.
All I am saying is you can choose NOT TO be disappointed.
And ignore what you deem impolite.
A true "friend" will speak his/her heart, sometimes harshly. A false friend, will make promises to the air, & maybe, just maybe show a practiced empathy...
We all have big projects. ALL of us. My life has been all about failing, falling & picking myself up from the mud. & I know EVERYONE is the same.
Before "begging" for "donations", he should at least show some dedication & professionalism. He should also gather a team of interested people to lay down the base project design for his "dream from childhood".
It should be a long-term campaign/project with a team of people. NOT stuff like: "h£y, Wha$$up, pEoplE! I have B1G CH1Ldh00D Dream! g1mme some money!"
For Heaven's sake; have you ever seen someone make a game without first gathering a team and creating a studio first? And have you ever heard of someone starting a product project without a plan, without taking a loan, etc?

Personally I have no problem with Alex's donation topics, for those who have worried that Alex might give nothing in return for donations, I believe there may have been an issue of miscommunication, The donations are going to go towards the creation of a game based in his universe, of course I can't promise anything on his behalf (as with any donations there is an element or risk, just think how many peoples crowd funded projects have failed, but at least in this case we actually know the person who's behind the project, and there is nothing set in stone, I see this as an opportunity to play a part in the development, whereas most peoples projects will have definite immutable goals, which they might never reach, Alex will likely listen to our opinions and take our ideas on-board, my advice would be to make up your own minds on what you want to do, respect each-other's opinions and try not to argue about it), if it's any consolation (being a donator myself, with belief in the potential of my friend's universe) I'll try and help Alex make sure we all get something at the end.
