We are proud to present our first official trailer. This video was shot with our internal alpha by a few friends of mine. As you can see there is still a lot of work to be done and a lot of polishing left, bear in mind the video does not showcase all of our weapons or all of our current features.

"I come to present to you Distraction mod, a Half-Life 2 action style mod much like The Specialists and Action Half-Life were for Half-Life, except better."
At least look at the profile.
That's EXACTLY what they're going for!
(Thank you Prototstar for getting it right =D)
And yeah, it did remind me of TS. Good job, Distraction team. Some of the movement was a bit...too twitchy for me. Some of it didn't flow very well..
But it's still in production, so I hope the team can improve the jumps and make it flow better!
Id like it if the shots where more like smod tactical cause the cheesie and strips of yellow coming from there chests looks bad i like the dives though.
Nice to see progress, should be fun to see some TS action in Source, but I still dont get the name: is it becouse its distrating to shoot at something thats doing a stunt jump? Maps look great, keep it up!
I understand you're trying to make a mod in the same style as The Specialists, but considering has just released its final release and is pretty much a finished product, you need to really let people know how Distraction is going to be different/better. At the moment I haven't really seen much evidence of Distraction taking advantage of Source tech (aside from ragdoll effects).
How will it set itself apart from an existing refined mod with an established community on a less demanding engine?
Longterm wise, the source engine although much more demanding offers much more potential. It will take time to fully take advantage of what the source engine offers, but we have the patience to learn. It is important to state that we are not looking to emulate TS, it is simply one of our inspirations, as is AHL and a number of other mods.
Read the interview although it was done some time ago. I counted bullet penetration and prop_physics among the Source conversion and 'more teamplay'. Seems you're being kinda cagey on additional info but that's your perogative really.
Damn it, Termin-X-man.

Just like Milkman, Illimky has come a lot way from the days of AHL. He's done a very nice job.
I gotta say, that's a pretty wicked trailer :)
Nice!
wow cool. worth a download maybe :)
So in actual modding terms: 2 custom player models, a map and some bloom effects... not that impressive.
Give an award to the director, editor and post production team though ;)
Chrome is right, but do I care? :P
Oh yes, Chrome, the pesimist of the group.
Pretty good vid. I cant wait to do some matrix **** when it come out
I think the impressive part is the player movement it allows. You don't need custom assets to have a great mod, just fun gameplay!
Wow, that was actually awesome.
Gameplay wise, it looks exactly like Action Half-Life... but I can't fault that either!
umm.... Max Payne/hitman? :P
cool

wow best mod trailer ive ever seen the mod still needs some work but that trailer was awesome
That´s nice architecture you´re using.
Definately reminded me of The Specialist.
The Specialists much?

Nice trailer :)
Was that an Afro-Ninja?
So what if its a few stuff done i still think it looks nice love the map but needs hdr to make it look alot better. :)
Really nice trailer. Hopefully the mod will be of the same quality =)

The following interview might answer some of your questions.
So we can expect Distraction:RP servers too...
Seems a lot like the specialist, but I really wanted to see that game in the hl2 engine so I'm excited!
