For a long time now Mod DB has operated without an online store of any form, now after a few months of development we'd like to unveil our brand spanking new digital shopfront! Our aim with the store is to bring you your favorite games, using the latest digital distribution methods so you can get playing in a matter of minutes. So check it out as we build up our catalog and integrate it with the site.
We have massive ambitious plans in the pipeline for all gamers / modders - as we work hard to take the indie development scene as far as we possibly can. So if you want to support us on this journey, use our store to get your games (much better than giving a donation right!?). And remember to keep on modding!
re: INtense!
that would be great. The only "major" place to get indy games I know of is garagegames.com, but i'd think this is THE place for people to see them. Is the store run completely via direct2drive or can you guys pick/choose what's put up for sale?
W00t!
damnit Salohcin so close to first comment!
I think this is great. At first, I thought you guys were going to sell modDB tee-shirts, or something...
But this is better.
J
I want to buy shirts and mouse pads and stuff. Moddb side panel o.O
Thanks for the continued support everyone, by using our store you are essentially donating to Mod DBs future growth and expansion! We hope you enjoy the additional services we strive to provide!
...First REAL comment!
He he.

I was hoping for moddb merchandise.
Cool :)
People still want merch? Well, I still have my T-Shirt, which was the first and only time we did staff t-shirts. :P
hot stuff, hot hot hot!
And Mod DB just keeps on coming with the cool stuff :D
Players Choice MOTY, Digital Store and Editors Choice MOTY (coming soon) all in 2-3 days. What a great Australia Day long weekend this will be :)
Amen for Australia Day! Imma go get trashed now. :D
Cool, moddb keeps getting cooler and cooler but as for a "digital store" I think going to the store in Real-Life(TM) is better then any digtial store :P
Great, needs more payment methods for the credit card impaired though.
Mod DB merchandise would be the sexiest stuff ever.
Id rather help MOD DB then some big fancy store like circuit city or Game spot. I just hope they dont go money Frenzy and start charching for unnecessary content.
no physical media option? Oh well..
hey, can indy dev's get on here if they wanted?
RE: Killamike
That isn't about to happen. We want people to enjoy the site and all the content we push out, we are never going to stop our readers from viewing whatever they want.
RE: TheHappyFriar
That is something we can look into. If the indie guys what to commericalise there game there maybe an opportunity to get it listed.
AWESOME! Finally an online games store with an acceptable privacy policy and TOS! Super kudos!
Looks nice so far, but I don't really know how this is supposed to work :/
Furthermore you should consider to "not" autoplay this flash video. It crashes Firefox and the only way I could view the page is to Ad-Block your flash so it doesn't show up.
Oh
More stores...
download game good, me buy many, love you longtime.
Hadn't thought of the Indie game approach. Brilliant idea. This store thing just gets better!
nice!!
That’s what this site is about right, moddable games. Have you checked out the crappy list of games on that site? There is a lot of moddable games as you can see from the games list on moddb.com, some of them are hard or almost impossible to get(some are so old), if this store is to be of any use it should only be for that kind of games, both new and old. All those other "impossible to mod" games you can find other places.
good for if you like a new mod and you need an older game to play it...
We are constantly looking at ways to get more games available to you, especially moddable ones.
Unfortunately being a digital distribution storefront, getting games up and running is dependent on the publishers allowing us to load their content.
Since many are still behind the times when it comes to digital distribution it will be a while before we can get some decent moddable titles up there. Rest assured this is our top priority.
This place just keeps getting Better, and BETTER.
I like it :P
Not just that Intense, but how about a Top 100 Moddable games category or something of that nature? I understand about distribution problems, but surely ModDB can cater much better for modders and seperate it from other digital download sites with features like this. You could also do small features on moddable games written by actual mod developers (if they were willing), detailing weak and strong points and their suitability for certain game types etc.
Very nice, something interesting to see would be how many mods are available for any given title. Maybe something like a basic rating system too, instead of hitting metacritic over & over. :)
I'll buy something for sure!
i'd most likely buy something, but I have a download limit, so I can't. :( But that price for FarCry is very good! Better the in-stores (if you can find it)!
