Insomnia 63 summary, Library and How To Play Section, The Minigun, Picking Phase Makover.

Insomnia 63!

We went back for round two and you guys were even more amazing than before! A massive thank you to the guys over at Payload Studios for setting up all the indie devs with double size stands this time around giving us way more room for people to see what was going on and plenty more space for you guys to battle your buddies! It was awesome to see so many of you there and the feedback and suggestions were just as brilliant, we look forward to these events because we get to see what you guys think first hand! That being said a massive hand also to all the event coordinators and volunteers who helped out over the weekend that make events like these possible.

The Library!

Prior and post i63 we have been developing a more statistical element to Guardians that we hope will give players a more in-depth look at the strategy side of things. A kind of "How to play" section if you will that also includes information about all the Gadgets and Traps you can find in the game complete with statistics about their damage and effects! All of this can be found in the Library tab from the main menu!

The Minigun!

We have also been working on a new gadget that you guys can use to pepper your enemies with! The Minigun! This badass weapon has some serious firepower and has its own unique cooldown! It features a pretty big but deteriorating range that fires rapid shots across the map! This doesn't come for free though as it is incredibly heavy and knocks you back as you fire, also you might want to take a break from firing every now and then as it gets pretty hot otherwise you'll be the one heating up.

Picking Phase Makeover!

The Picking phase has also had a bit of a makeover sporting some cool futuristic locks complete with sound and animations, we will be working towards improving other screens that still have some more "placeholdery" assets over the coming months as well as fixing issues that cause hiccups now and then.

Current Focus

Hopefully we have now gotten Guardians of the Past to a stage where people can start to see the vision of a game we had way back in 2016 and hopefully you're all as stoked as we are about getting there. Unfortunately, there are still plenty of things that we want to fix, change and add before Guardians becomes the finished game we're aiming for. This being said we are still constantly changing and altering what our final vision for Guardians is going to be since so many of you love giving awesome feedback and suggestions. After all, we want the game to be as enjoyable as possible with enough freedom for you to play however you want. Complete, Customisable, Cute, Chaos are pretty much great words to describe the MO of Guardians!

We will hopefully be working towards preparing the game for porting to other platforms which include the How To Play section and a Steam Demo! which shall allow players to get a feel for a more simple version of the game with limited features. The idea of this is to allow you guys to experience a small part of the game to help you decide if it's your cup of tea! Which we're already pretty sure it is, who doesn't like an arena full of your friends surrounded by gunfire, flames, and explosions??
