Our 3D artist just sent over this wonderful image of the boss target model.
This is the high-resolution model without any textures applied. He’s still got to reduce this to the low poly count and add the various materials.
Each of our models ends up with these textures:
- Diffuse: this is the basic color of the model
- Specular + Gloss: this says how lights reflect off the model
- Glow: the parts of the model that will glow
- Object Normal Map: Ah, I could write a whole article about what this is… let’s just say it’s needed for lighting
