Our Kickstarter went live yesterday. Here is a quick update!

Hey guys!

First off, thank you so much for checking out, backing and spreading word about our game. We're really excited to build momentum around Deep Sixed and look forward to sharing plenty of updates, some featured rewards, and telling you more about the game itself. Backers can expect invitations to a Steam demo very soon. If you haven't seen our Kickstarter campaign yet, check it out:

Right now we're in the middle of implementing some new mechanics to Deep Sixed, including regulating room temperature and preventing / suppressing electrical fires in the cabin. We'll show you some video of progress as the campaign goes on.

One of the best development decisions we've ever made was migrating Deep Sixed to Godot. Godot is a Python-like multi-platform open-source engine that opened up a world of possibilities for us, and at zero cost to boot. I can't say enough great things about Godot and I'm now using it in my own classroom because it's important to me that my students are learning to code using the next generation of tools. For all aspiring developers out there nervous about making the plunge to Godot, we want to draw your attention to our friend Nathan Lovato who has his own Kickstarter running right now. He's offering Godot courses and I would highly recommend checking out the terrific value in what he's offering. They hit their funding target in the first 12 hours, so you know this is going to be something terrific, and I really encourage anyone interested in game development to get in on the ground floor with his educational materials.
