And we're back, this week with our Covenant Mortar Turret.
The Covenant Mortar Turret was the result of what we thought was a necessary addition to the campaign. Not only does it produce epic encounters, it makes things a bit more interesting when facing the Covenant. We also felt it was unfair that the Flood/Sentinels were receiving lots of new stuff while the Covenant were not. The Mortar Turret is operated via a control panel at the rear of the vehicle, we felt it was necessary to make the gunner easier to kill so it balances with the fire power of the turret better. So, one of our first addition to the Covenant was the Mortar Turret, and here it is:

Here's a small video of it in action:
And of course, alternate link on Youtube here.
As in the video description we're still tweaking the AI and weapon so rate of fire may be increased and accuracy nerfed further, or vice-versa.
Next week we show of our Flood environments in StKft, including biomass, spore particles and Flood fog.
I'd just like to add that we're currently looking for a voice actor for Gravemind, so if you think you got what it takes, record yourself reading this line:
"There is still time to stop the key from turning"
And send me a PM with the download link. If we think you got what it takes to voice Gravemind then we'll contact you with further information.
Great progress, guys. By the way, any chance you can reveal some details if you encounter Spec Ops troops in the campaign?
I can say you'll definitely be encountering Spec Ops troops in the campaign and they'll have some new toys with them.
Awesome, it looks covenant, like something that would be in the actual game. And I like the 3 front legs.
The only thing im gonna miss in this mod, is fighting the flood.
this makes me want to buy halo 1&2 for pc. i mean i already own them all on xbox XD
If you're needing a voice actor for the Gravemind, will someone be applying filters for the audio? I don't know how to do anything of that stuff, and I'm sure the voice actor for the Gravemind in Halo 2/3 had a filter put over, to give it a better alien-esque sound.
Was just curious, as I'd like to try out, but would like confirmation before I give it a go.
And keep up the great work! New turret looks pretty awesome.
It's up to the person who records it whether or not they wish to apply filters. If they don't, we can easily edit it ourselves.
That said, if someone sends us an awesome voice recording WITH the right filters applied, then we'll use that with no changes.
