Storyline - Chapter One: Contrasts
The light gray sedan pulled up along a cold, windy dirt road. The rusty decaying signs along the road showed no one had been down this far in a long, long time. Beyond the broken chain link fence that stretched far into the distance along the long forgotten highway sat the once small thriving town the two had come to find. The sedan rolled to a stop along the side of the dusty street, just in front of the large door that blocked the only entrance into town. No sign warned those who came here not to enter, a simple heavy-duty chain wrapped around the two chain link doors and a rusty age worn lock was all that barred entrance. Roy stepped out of his car and walked over, looking past the fence towards the town. Fog had settled over the long dead town, enveloping it in a death like grip. Not far from the decaying fence stood Hovgård, a now destitute and rotting facade of it’s former self.
Media release:
Notice:
Further parts of the game's storyline will be released frequently. Only about a tenth of the media content we produce will be showed on the net to keep the mystery alive.
Vacancies:
Modeller:
Must be experienced with Z-brush, 3dsmax, Maya or an equivalent program. Must know how to unwrap models as well as to skin them. Knowing how to compile models is a huge plus but is not required.
Mapper:
Excellent knowledge about the Valve Hammer Editor software. Must know how to create realistic environments which both look stunning and horrifying. Must be able to create textures from excisting images with bump maps and specularity maps. Knowledge about how to create maps with good single-player gameplay is also needed. Knowledge about color correction is a plus but is not required. Knowledge about Faceposer is a HUGE plus but is not required.

What's Swenglish? :)
My bad. Scandenglish. Scandinavian English. Am I close?
Oh, you mean the name of the town? Oh yes, you'll get to sink your teeth into the town's many mysteries soon. :)
lol that was random
Looks Friggin AWESOM! And are u guys from DK?
"We" are from a lot of countries, including Denmark, Germany, Sweden, USA and Venezuela.
Are the textures original hl2? did you use any textures from other valve games or mods? I'm really impressed by the atmosphere and the ground textures remind me of L4D or the hl2 cinematic mod.
Thanks!
Every texture on this map is made by me, this includes the ground textures. This does, however not include the tree models, which (still) use their original, hl2 textures.
Now I'm off to get **** drunk and stoned out of my mind! Peace!
Peace brother! Looking forward to more media releases.
EDIT* That sounded so Father Grigorish.
:O
Very beautful and atmospheric! Story is very dramatic and well-written as well; keep it up!! :DD
Cool.
Wow those maps are amazing!
A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. is more like it :)
Beautiful mapping.
Very impressive. You guys got basically everything right in those pictures. Excellent brushwork, texture work, use of effects, lighting, all that. The atmosphere is so thick you can almost smell it. Great job!
I was blown away...
...until i viewed the pictures fullscreen.
The brushwork is very basic and the textures are not sharp.
Im assuming the fog and the color correction are what make the maps look great in the thumbnail.
If you downvote this comment, try and prove me wrong.
Anyways, Im still tracking this mod and looking forward to better mapping.
Interesting. Thank's for your comment. I know that you've complemented a lot of my older work. Almost all of the textures used in these photographs are 1024x1024 and very detailed. Almost all of them are bump mapped too.
I'm positive that mainly the ground textures are whats bothering you, but I can assure you that the camera angle makes them blurry in some of the shots.
As for the brushwork, I dont really have anything to defend myself with. I'll let you be dazzled in the future though, I wont give up on you! :)
Thanks again for the comment.
TO EVERYONE ELSE: Thank you all very much for the nice comments! Really glad to see that you all like what we're producing!
Thanks, I really love the atmosphere achieved in the map. The ground textures did seem extremely blurry. However, I look forward to the improved brushwork.
It is truly an excellent start; I just had to be the stick in the sand. :P
Good luck with the mod.
Not a problem. :)
Honesty is everything.
Thanks again. :)
Your maps and storyline are amazaing. The qualilty and detail and atmosphere omg!!!! ahah your maps are great. Keep up the good work!
This is looking promising, can't wait for release!
There is a great atmosphere in those shots, that's the way I like maps. Other details doesn't matter that much.
So your map looks great. I'll be watching.
Looks incredible, keep up the solid work.
So what kind of an team is there behind Visage? Like.. how many, and I get the feeling you already have experience with mods or games.
We have some experience, yep ^^
As for how many, we're only a small team but we do our best ;)
Yeah, we're a small team and all of us have a lot of experience on the modding scene and/or in the games industry.
