Brutal Half-Life is a mod inspired by Brutal Doom.

Not too fond of blood and gore... but i might actually give this a try.
Hey, I've been playing for the better half of an hour, and it seems that the mod crashes during the chapter 'We've got hostiles!", I'm not sure if it's me or the mod, just thought I'd post to see if that'd be helpful. :D
Update on this: Since the first crash on that chapter, I haven't been able to launch the mod again. Anyone else experiencing the same problems?

I think the developer said he wants to make/adapt HD skins,although he said not to download any HD skins,because I don't know the results.

I admit, I was VERY skeptical about this when I downloaded this but...
This is potentially mod of the year for Half-Life 1.

HD models would be very appreciated but if it's too much of a hassle, don't sweat it, right now it's already looking really good.
Also, maybe add more power to the weapons? Well anyway, best of luck to you, I'm gonna follow this mod very closely.
edit: Disregard my words about weapon firepower, it seems quite right - I wrongly assessed it in the zoo level.
A couple of observations though -
removal of HUD notifications regarding ammo\armor\health pickups is a strange decision, making gameplay a little uncomfortable.
Dying animation are played endlessly? NPCs doesn't seem to fade out from/succumb to wounds. Not a big deal though but still.
Subjective note: shotgun blasts away enemies with too much force. This sometimes makes them fall through walls and floor.
Subjective note №2: as a gore mod this doing the job very well, but to me it's a little bit too disturbing. This was never the issue in Brutal Doom but here Uncanny Valley is in effect, probably. Maybe because BD had very different gameplay compared to vanilla Doom? I'm not really sure.
P.S. 'Bullet shower dance' effect upon continuous fire on enemy is a nice touch.

Hi! I have noticed that this game uses custom DLLs. Does that mean I can trigger VAC ban while playing multiplayer?
Mod won't let you join any default Half-Life server, because of modified Server.dll, so you won't be banned.
Really promising stuff so far!
It would be nice if the zoo level provided had some respawn buttons or some additional arena-styled play to test out the new stuff more, but that'll come in time I suppose.

You just need to download it and just don't mess with the folders and stuff (unless its wrong for you) and just click continue and stuff,its automatic.

Just wanted to stop by a say how awesome this mod is, but I have encountered a few crashes in my playthrough, now the hornets are causing them everytime they are blown up.

I LOVE the idea and such, but BRUTAL DOOM will be in my heart forever.

This mod have a small problem...
Some times when you kill the Alien Grunt with the Gluon Gun or Grenade Launcher, the game crash.

I installed it using the exe but nothing changed. Unless the mod should be installed separately from the vanilla half-life.
I just want to point one thing out. The female black-ops soldiers have no gore at all. It won't be brutal Half-Life if everyone of the NPC's don't have gore.

How can I rename the game on steam?
In my mods,I have your "Brutal Half Life" splash screen showing up on each time I start up a mod with some girl singing. Can you plase tell me where on my computer are the hidden files so I can get rid of it.I have mentioned this on the Moddb Brutal Half Life page.I thought I'd let you know of my problem.I uninstalled all my mods,in fact the whole HL folder in steam. I re-installed HL,then installed all my mods again except Brutal. Restarted Steam,started a mod,and that splash screen (and I forgot to mention,the in-game changes which I do not favour) still comes up with the cute girl's voice singing. I'm sure your mod was well recieved,as it was by me,but I should be able to have the choice to disable the mod. I thank you in
