Post news Report RSS Bloodhunt - Welcome to indieDB

Tired of waiting for a spiritual sequel to Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines? Well, Bloodhunt is just that, an intense story-driven vampire RPG in a 2D retro pixelart style.

What is Bloodhunt?

Bloodhunt is a spiritual successor of Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines.

Why a demake?

Being a part-time indie developer, I can only commit a reasonable amount of time to my games. Also, my artistic talents are rather limited so I can't think of a faster and better visual presentation for Bloodhunt than these retro style pixelart.

Character Creation

When will it be playable?

I've spent some time working on pre-production and mockups, adapting Vampire: the Masquerade core mechanics to a classic 2D RPG, making pixelart graphics and animations, and coding some technical prototypes. All these pre-production efforts are getting close to a first technical demo that serves two purposes. First, it will show the main systems of Bloodhunt working in a minimal scenario. Sort of "that's what I can do" in the game without compromising time or quality. Also, it will be the first step in a series of iterations that will lead towards the real game, populating the prototype with more and more content, characters, quests and features.

PS: In case you're interested in the gory details, you can read all the ups and downs of development in my devlog. Also, there's a spanish version here.

Thanks for your comment! I'll post about character customization in the future but for now let's just say all character colors will be configurable. Face expressions, hair and other accessories maybe too (depending on technical issues and animations).
