We’re proud to announce today that you can pre-order Blade Symphony from our website and start playing today. We’re really proud to show you what the game looks like now.

Since our last release we’ve done many things, launched a successful Kickstarter campaign which helped us secure a Source engine license; port all our code over to the Portal 2 engine, and overhaul the gameplay.

Each character now has three unique stances and forty different attacks. There are three different sword types (and more on the way), each with unique properties that lend themselves to particular fighting styles. You can fight in 1v1, 2v2 or even 2v1 duels on four uniquely set duel maps. We also have implemented a full free-for-all mode for each of the maps allowing you to fully explore each of exquisitely detailed maps and challenge other players to a duel.

So what are you waiting for? Jump on in and get duelling! We also encourage you provide us with your feedback on the beta. You can also keep track of developments on twitter, facebook and blade-symphony.com.

You realize most games cost 60 dollars for a pre-order, right? And then another 30 or so for the Season Pass.

You realize this has no SP, and limited replay value? It's like Jedi Academy. I would never have paid 59.99$ for it. I paid 29.99$ for it, and it came with a lengthy SP with multiple paths to add replability, and a fun MP with a half a dozen unique modes.

This comes with 2, and a handful of maps. There's a reason they asked for 14.99$.

Mkilbride, over the past few years that I've followed this game and several others, when I come to the comments and your avatar pops up. I've always noticed that many of your comments are just so very 'glass half-full' and critical.
I just wanted to let you know that your negativity is noticed. That's all.

Wasn't insulting it, I was following the mod since it had that name that is hard to even remember, birubumribur or whatever. I was also in the beta for this.

Just saying, the person trying to tell me that this is comparable to a 60$ game, with a season pass for 30$, is quite a joke.

The person trying to tell me that this well produced and designed game needs to be priced similar to shovelware titles is more of a joke

But I guess he really wants to save that extra $4.99

Well there a persons who pay it for themself and go working to earn money so they look if it's worth to spend these 5 bucks. If you're young you don't have a full time job with >1500 bucks per month.
And some people say it is not a game you often play again. Read Darthlex post.

Yeah.. I paid 4 bucks for JKA and still want a refund, but that's beside the point.

You just argued in favor of the price point you were against... so that's interesting.

Then I don't know why you'd want this game.

The developers drew inspiration from JKA. It's JKA in it's entire being, having played it.

We're actively continuing to develop the game. We have 1v1 duels, 2v2 team duels, and FFA game modes. There are 4 duel maps and two FFA maps, with a couple more FFA maps in the pipe. We're also working on Pure, the fourth character, with plans for possibly two more. More swords and sword types have already been modeled and are currently being balanced and playtested by the dev team.

While there may not be SP, we're also far from finished. We opened pre-orders because we've gotten lots of questions from people who missed the Kickstarter and wanted a way to give us money and play what we had ready right now.

If you're waiting for a sale, I wouldn't necessarily wait for the game to lose it's beta tag. As noted on the pre-order page, the pre-order price is a discount from what we think we'll sell the final game at.

Then...I will wait for a sale even more so.

Charging more than 9.99$ seems foolish. Charging more than 14.99$ sounds down-right arrogant.

You realize that this only happens because we do not act like responsible consumers and actually demand what the price is worth? I completely agree that 10 dollars is what this game should cost. Nothing more, nothing less.

And this is coming from a guy that spend about 3-5 hours playing it today: The game (as it stands atm) does not have the kind of longevity that carries MP titles.

I'm perfectly happy to put 60 bucks down for Bioshock Infinite or Dead Space 3. If a title isn't worth that much support, I wait like everyone else and the price does come down. If it's that big an issue with this game, at some point it will drop in price, but it will be down the road.

You see the problem with that though, right? While an SP game in itself is worth buying later because the experience doesn't diminish, an MP-only game suffering from possible low population of a game that didn't immediately sell tons of copies is actually worth less, the fewer people that are playing.

I'm hoping for a success here! I've enjoyed this game while playing it, but I can't see where to go beyond mastering the controls and the movesets.

But the problem with buying off-the-bat on titles like Dead Space 3 is the fact that the horrible business practices are simply ignored and they (publishers) keep getting more and more comfortable in their franchises. (IMO)

I'm curious Mkilbride, do you think that Aliens Colonial Marines is worth the price you paid for it?

I think ive seen Mkilbride post such things on several games.
Having a short peak at his comments, I couldnt help but notice him
posting about his GTX 670 SLI PC.

Cant be serious. Bitching around for 3 Euros, but spending hundreds on
absolutely useless hardware is ok ? And dont tell me you need SLI,
Im a 3D Artist and there hasnt been any need for SLI since its invention.

If your bad logic forces you to post such top-down comments on other peoples hard work, then just try to suppress it. Nobody wants to know.
