BFME: Reforged Update №2: Q&A and UI

We are happy to finally let you take a look at our new User Interface which will be present in game! It was inspired by your feedback left on Facebook page and the questions following were asked on our YouTube channel, and your little contributions finally lead to the creation of this video. Enjoy!

After a number of serious conversations and arguments as well as receiving particular feedback, we decided to heavily base the new interface on the one seen in the very first BFME game. What we did is simple: get to know how the UI of BFME works, then redraw everything in 4k resolution, apply and thoroughly set it up. Now we are proud to share our nerve-breaking achievement with you!

There is more to tell you. After hearing a couple of decent ideas we decided to implement them into the Isengard spellbook which by this point is almost ready. Today we'd also like to share with you some details about one particular spell which is going to replace the Dragon Strike ability. It's known that dragons are not affiliated with Isengard, yet we sought a similar replacement, something fiery and devastating. Suddenly we got an idea and the replacement spell is now known as The Burning Engine.

The spell summons the fire machine from the ground which starts erupting fire from its vents. The rotation makes it almost impossible to dodge the incinerating death if some units were left untouched by the initial attack. This spell might seem purely out of place or even non-canonical, yet indeed it's purely based on the story told by Merry and Pippin after the destruction of Isengard.

"When Saruman was safe back in Orthanc, it was not long before he set some of his precious machinery to work. By that time there were many Ents inside Isengard: some had followed Quickbeam, and others had burst in from the north and east; they were roaming about and doing a great deal of damage. Suddenly up came fires and foul fumes: the vents and shafts all over the plain began to spout and belch. Several of the Ents got scorched and blistered. One of them, Beechbone I think he was called, a very tall handsome Ent, got caught in a spray of some liquid fire and burned like a torch: a horrible sight."

The other spells are ready and soon we will release a video, showcasing our new spellbook! Please, feel free to share your thoughts with us about this particular spell or the user interface we made! We always welcome fresh and interesting ideas. Stay tuned for the next Update video for it won't be too far behind!

You can always find out what's new on our YouTube channel or the Website.

With sincere passion towards all fans and BFME,

That's actually great. It sounds canonical. Don't mind what some Tolkien-Taliban-fans may say. They interpret Tolkien precisely as he writes down things. They are blinded by their own love for Tolkien.

I'd say it's a bit more fantasized then what could be found in LOTR (for the spinning part) but overall a very good idea and way more canonical and fitting than dragons. Not even sure what EA was thinking when they made that choice.

Because of collisions they said, iirc.
It's a good thing really, less glitchy melee, better AI.

Also they said it wouldn't prevent you from making massive armies I think.
