This article will explain some of my ideas for adding the beta monsters that were cut from half-life when it was released. I am planning on having some beta monsters be boss style enemies with triggered sequnces and some in place of other monsters. Now most mods include some of the beta monsters that were cut from half-life, most commonly I have seen is the chumptoad and the panther. In the mods point of view and azure sheep the chumtoad is used as a more powerful snark and the panther uses similar lightning attacks such as the slave, these enemies were also planed to be in the cancelled mod xen exploration team and these monsters were used differently in various mods. I will have the panther behave the way the mods azure sheep, POV, and XET portrays, by simply replacing it with the alien slave model. (which will result in me splitting this mod into parts due to my inability to code). The chumtoads will behave as they did in blue shift. For anyone who knows about the hidden cave in blue shift where it had a few toads sitting on some rocks and as you approached them the teleported with a purple energy effect. In my mod you will see chumtoads lying around in places, mostly in xen areas. Some chumtoads will show you no fear as for some will teleport away from you. There are many other beta monsters that I have not seen in mods. One is the friendly that is a weird looking thing that resembles a mutated horse in a way. My plan for that is to be a boss using various sequences and it may also reskin some monster (most likely spitting monsters). The archer I will have as a regular enemy. Now the kingpin will have in sequences, the first encounter of the kingpin will be a boss fight and the others will be like mini boss fights using curtain sequences. And also I will categorize the kingpin as a race x creature since it shares some similar properties such as the tentacles under the mouth. I will try to add as many beta monsters as I can. They will either be just there from time to time or boss enemies.

Well, good luck with the code! The kingpin would probably do good if it had some zombie code, it has the claws and such. And that mutated horse thing you were talking about reminds me of something you would see in Q2.. lol
