Hello all!
We've finally gotten ourselves organised and registered at ModDB. Shout out goes to Tarky for helping us out! Just thought that we should announce ourselves to the community here and hopefully gain some feedback and support.
We have been working on the mod now for a little while now in between other work. But now we have finally organised ourselves and can concentrate on it. We will have more media posted up for you within the next couple of weeks, and the website and forums are having numerous changes made to them. You can find them here: www.bobmod.net
To keep you going we've uploaded a couple of WIP's:

This could be really amazing, BoB is a really great movie, one of my favorites, quite a lofty goal you are going after :P, if you could recreate the atmosphere and locations like in the movie it would be one excellent mod!
i thought it was a tv series..
but yeah same applies, if you do it well it could be pretty good...
What would a band of brothers game have that every other WW2 game doesn't?
yeah, change the name cause they shut down the previous mod too.
Tip: Band of THE brothers. ;)
yea it was a miniseries made for tv, so it feels like a movie :)
why make a new M1 Garand?
And with a incorect aiming sight (On the back of the gun, that hole in the sight is way to small, do some more research)
AH shhhhi.. i mis read i thought this was a band of brothers mod, argh my bad, but still fix that sight
i cant understand why people are still getting excited with weapon models, they all end up looking the same or worse than the previous actaul game ones and they are usualy over rated and unskinned, someone tell me how the community can get excited over this gibberish
I won't go into the quality of this actual model, but in general I don't get exited either about unskinned meshes. Now skinned ones are totally different, as those can really show what it's going to look like in-game, but unskinned? No. With the exception of course of a modeler who just wants to showcase his modelingwork, but that doesn't apply in this situation.
The BoB name has already been mentioned by someone (might give you copyright issues) but another thing you'd like to reconsider is Currahee. It only really applies to episode one, where we can see the people from Easy getting the hard training from Capt. Sobel at mountain Currahee. (Which, for the uninformed, Easy company has to march up to every time. Both part as their daily exercise, but also when they do something wrong in the eyes of the captain.) The total run is about 15 km, if I recall correctly. (About 9 miles..)
Seeing what your mod will be about, it'll probably be more appropriate to call it something like "Band of Brothers: Day of Days" (After episode 2, where they actually land in the countryside near Carentan.) Currahee really made me think it all revolved about boot camp.
Alone_In_The_Dark - this is not the end product as i said its a Work In Progress, numerous changes will be made until all the weapon models are accurate to the real thing. Were organising a trip for the us to go and see some of the weapons to get some photos done to check against our models, and have a talk with some historians. We will not be releasing textured renders until we are completely satisfied with the models - just to clear that up.
"HBO is gonna be on your backs, seen it before with a mod team of a similar name." - I've already contacted HBO and im awaiting a reply to go ahead with the name or I will just have to change it like you said.
SEThorian - we chose currahee because it wasn't just the name they used for the mountain. It was one of their mottos.

Its always best to contact them and make an agreement than to just do it all without permission or knowledge of us doing so. Also, who said anything about going the US?

Oops sorry. Im not very good at typing at times - it was meant to be 'organising a trip for us' - without the 'The'. But I would've used caps for US anyway.
Real mature there, guest, nagging about a typo.
Furthermore, why would you have to go to America to see a Garand? That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard! Just to bring some breaking news here: In Europe, we also have both museums and historians. I know, things over here get crazier with the day...
...Seriously, we're not a 3rd world continent, thank you.
Lastly: Yes, Currahee makes sense now; I forgot all about it! Granted, they don't use it often (usually only when celebrating) but still.. Yup, makes sense now..
Thank you SEThorian. Yeah we've got collectors over here with WWII weapons as well as museums and a lot of historians - so we have no shortage of resources here in England. Hopefully i've cleared all of that up now. But about the models:
These are basic renders we made of one of the WIP models. As I thought the mod community and new comers to the mod community would like to see how it is developed from start to finish. You will see some models nicely skinned and well presented as we progress.

It's looking nice, but no BOB:Source. Too bad we never found a texture artist. The mod should be starting back up soon.

OK i've added another model - Thompson .45 that was a work in progress. Just needs skinning - i'll do it tomorrow. Check out the gallery to see.
