Well, some bad news. My computer is still broken, so there won't be any in-game
content for a few weeks again. But I might work on some music if I have time.

Speaking of music, a friend has said that he
would be able to make music for the mod. It's good to know someone else is
willing to help on the mod.

For the one time my computer has actually
worked in the last month, I began working on the maps and weapons for the mod.
At the moment, about a third of the guns are finished, those being the USP, Steyr
ACR and a rocket launcher of some kind that has a suspicious resemblance to
Team Fortress 2's Direct Hit...

The ACR is an interesting talking point.
Even though it is meant to be an assault rifle, the HL2 SMG1 code is, as I
describe it, ‘potato', and is not set up in any logical way. The ACR is meant
to be burst fire, but the SMG1 uses a full-auto firing mode, making a modified
version of the SMG using burst fire very weird. The code is crazy for it. It
doesn't even have a CWeaponSMG1::PrimaryAttack function (wtf??!). So, I'm too
inexperienced to know why, so I found possible the hackiest workaround; I
copied the pistol code, added burst fire that actually works, and put a ACR
skin on it. Too much skill.

Next post I promise to focus more on the
story. I know that I've said it is a big part of the mod's appeal, and I
haven't paid much attention to it yet (although I have started writing it). It
seems to focus a lot on the effects war has on the soldiers as well as its
victims (similar to Spec-Ops: The Line [It was that game, I think]). I'm also
planning a very customizable weapon attachment and modification system, but I
have no idea how to code it. I can read and understand code well, but
everything I write fails miserably. Oh well, I'll figure it out. That's all for
now...
