New ColorPicker
Our color picker has often been criticized for blocking too many colors and not giving much to select from. Fortunately our fellow comrade ‘pulse’ took a look at it.
The old color picker was just not intuitive enough and has been replaced
by this non-restrictive, user friendly gem.

Even though this is an Apiril's fools joke, you can't help but wonder which features are really planned, and which ones aren't (the 'new' color picker might actually be usefull)
Also: Why do people think that the Frenchies surrender before any one else? I mean, I watched Tiberium Catastrophe and Tiberium Ecstasy and the Frenchies appear to be the biggest scaredy cats around. But why? Did I miss something?
None of this is planned except maybe the player authentication whose screenshot is used for the in-game currency humor. French surrender is a joke on sterotypes. The 3D color picker from www.colorotate.org would in fact be totally over-engineered for a game. Sometimes people forget this is a game developed by hobbyists.
That reputation for France really only started at the beginning of WW2, when the French government formally surrendered to Nazi Germany in June of 1940.
While I can see how surrendering is often the tactical move, giving up the whole country when your enemy is as objectively evil as the Nazis were seems a pretty **** move.
Historically though, the French have a fairly impressive record.
Of the 125 major european wars fought since 1495, the French have fought in 50.
Out of 168 battles since 387 BC, they've won 109, lost 49, and drawn 10, for an outstandingly high 65% victory rating.
Technically the reputation started in WW1 where they lost and the reputation was solidified during WW2 where they lost to the same tactic again (Pouring through the Ardennes forest again). They also got a lot of flak for being one of the major contributing factors for how terrible the ending negotiations of WW1 went despite only being in the bargaining position due to other nations hard work.
I'm not saying this make fun of the french, but it is how other nation saw the french during that time period. Thus they got the legacy of being able to act tough but lose by giving up when it actually counts the most.

No, in WW1 they held against the most powerful country of Europe by that time as Germany was the most populated country in Europe (except maybe imperial Russia, maybe...) and had a better and wider industry (on that last point France was lagging behind).
To be honest, it's a bit funny to see how people don't realize that countries rises and fatally falls, to keep the same example, France was dominating Europe durring it's first revolution and empire, but it eventually came to an end. The same happened to a lot of other countries, they had their moment of glory, but that's not ever lasting...

Could you add to the colour picker the quick option to choose the few original, strong, bold colours from before? 95% of the time I just want them, but I have to slide around on the colour map trying to get it right.
Yes, the ModDB authentication delayed this too much. By the way: you can use any color chooser to pick a player color. It is saved in the settings file and can be edited. See Github.com
