Salamanders have a unique battle style that differentiates them from the chapters who only use the codex astartes. Ultramarines are by definition vanilla. Imagine that the standard ones in game are blue, and you won't notice a difference.
You're also being very childish about this. My chapter didn't even get into the finals, but you don't see me acting up over it.
thinking that a defensive chapter making an offensive it truely destroys the codex and they use promethean cult too.. this also means that if there's salamanders we're gonna see huge sacrifices and the place must be armaggedon because only companies of salamanders are there now.. that's why i prefer smurfs

What Salamenders specialized is DEFEND Holding the line as a one big reptile.. Getting their enemies to narrow places and slaughter them on cqc thinking that we're against tyranids this tactic is no use that's why GW don't make'm contact each other and due to salamenders we can use 4 types of range weps now... (melta flame bolter's rl) and a bit op meele weps (nothing to compare with SW) this is why i against it THIS IS ENTIRELY AGAINST THE W40K !

I foresee a slight problem with this chapter selection. You've ended up with chapter that uses a lizard symbol to fight space lizards. If it comes down to logos to indicate the teams it could be confusing to a new player.
The trouble with using a survey system for a poll is that at the end it asked you if you want to take another survey, which could have skewed the votes by one fanboy voting Salamanders 109 times.

The Tyranids are far more space bug like than like lizards. They have chitin plates for armour, not scales, so I can't imagine there will be much confusion at all.
Eh, Salamanders won't be that bad, even though they aren't the Raven Guard. "From the darkness we strike: fast and lethal, and by the time our foes can react....darkness there and nothing more."

Well, I thought the Ultramarines were on first place and I voted for the Ultramarines but I'm happy that Salamanders won. Make some types of flamethrowers and meltaguns for them. ;)
Well the choice for Salamanders is great and all but I'd like to know which Nurgle followers we will be facing. Will they be a Chaos Legion or demons such as Nurglings?

Ultramarines are getting there own film so they have enough exposure. Great to see some love for the other chapters.
I wanted either Salamanders because they're badass or Raven Guard because their colours are closest to my chapter, the Death Spectres.
Happy with Salamanders though.

I think that the Dark Angels could have been really interesting to play with, too; the capes that they often wear into combat would be a nice aesthetic touch.
Still nice to see a change from the Ultramarines or Blood Ravens though.
Well...this'll be interesting, though I'm an Ultramarine I have no animosity towards the Salamanders. Though pereferably I'd love to have seen the Black Templars up there. That would have been freaking awesome. They're like the ultimate nuthouse faithful to the emperor out the wazoo marines. Plus they love to charge straight into battle chainswords a rawring.
I don't see why people are saying "the Salamanders have a unique fighting style" as one of the reasons the Salamanders were a good choice. Regardless of which chapter was chosen, all the same weapons and equipment should be available for use (including or not including certain weapons or the like just because a certain chapter was picked is beyond ridiculous).
Honestly I didn't mind which chapter got picked; I think the Salamanders are a fine chapter, and at the end of the day I'll be able to play as a Space Marine killing the **** out of Tyranids. I just thought it was kind of silly for people to be saying that.
My only concern is their armor. Their typical green+black color scheme wouldn't exactly stand out the best. :T
I feel that the Deathwatch would of made a perfect choice for this mod. Seeing that we are going to be fighting only Tyranids and how the deathwatch is a force mainly focused on fighting xenos. The black and metallic silver design would be interesting to see, and the fact that the Deathwatch pulls its recruits from many chapters you would be able to pick your own deathwatch marine with his original chapter badge on his shoulder. This would allow for all of these chapters that were voted on to be in the game. To bad its probally late to change after the vote =(
please stop asking for deathwatch, the pool was made and everyone had his chance to choice it, and salamanders win, face it and stop with this

If you can, pick up the Salamander novels to learn more about them, also the codex is a good place to look too. Also note that the Salamanders have Black skin. As in BLACK not African American. Its to due with the planet they live on and their genetics.
And for model wise it would be good to show some lizard scales if the group of marines wed be playing as are veterans.

well there's nothing we can change but.. if we'll play with salamanders all goes to "CQC" now and thinking that only 4 man it must be all terminators and 1 apoth. (gene-seeds) well i'm not gonna cry like babies up so i only prefer DW but still it's 40k right?

I agree with you entirely, the shoulder pads would have made perfect ways to differentiate between players.
