Hi!
Oof. We're having some technical difficulties with the AotR Launcher,
so we decided to release 4.1 standalone for now.
Once the Launcher is fixed, we will make it independently available.
If you have a working version of 4.1 already installed from the previous days,
you don't have to uninstall that and may disregard this new file
For a full list of changes, please refer to the CHANGELIST.
HOW TO INSTALL
- Download the Installer
- Unzip the contents of AotR_4.1.zip
- Run Installer.exe
- The installer creates a shortcut to AotR 4.1 on your desktop
PLAYING ONLINE
For using T3A:Online, nothing has changed - just make sure RotWK is hooked from the T3A:Online Launcher.
For using Gameranger, the process has been simplified:
- Open Gameranger
- Go to Edit > Options...
- Find and select Rise of the Witch-king
- Under Location, select Browse
- Browse to your Age of the Ring 4.1 installation folder and select lotrbfme2ep1.exe, then click Open.
To play normal RotWK, reverse this process by selecting lotrbfme2ep1 from RotWK's installation folder.
********** PLEASE READ BELOW **********
- AotR 4.1 does NOT yet support 2.02 v8.2.0. To play Age of the Ring, either don't update to the latest 2.02 version or use the 2.02 launcher to set your Rise of the Witch-king to v8.0.1.
- There is still a launcher.exe present in AotR 4.1's installation folder. You can use this to uninstall Age of the Ring, get help for Gameranger using Options > Gameranger, as well as launch the mod. There is no update available, so pressing Update does nothing.

Some would say that everything is good in that campaign, but not for me. Please do something with that fog of war that not reveals, cause your characters need to explore and have a very limited vision range(Mines of Moria for now...). Please devs, do the standard like in skirmish game, when you see, what you had explore before. For me now... this is ****, sorry for my words, but I'm just trying to explain to You that I don't see even a single argument for creating such a not good explore option.(This is not rpg game). Thank You anyway for this mod. It's my No.1 for this game and I really appreciate Your work, but try to reconsider is that really good. For me? No, I'ts destroying the vision of that game, I just don't want to spend the 2 hours playing one mission. Thanks for option to discuss it, hope You will think about it. Thank You very much devs for the mod! :)
Thanks for liking the mod, but Moria being a pit of darkness and confusion is the point and will not change. My suggestion? Find the library. It will help you.

No Gimli & Legolas out of Stormcrow? Any plans of incluiding them in a faction (I guess Legolas would go in Greenwood, but ... Gimli?)
How do you get the Mirkwood units from the last mission in the bfme2 campaign (at the dol guldur siege you get reinforcements from Thranduil and they are unupgradable) present in the mod. Also amazing work on the mod, it reignited my love for the game and the universe of LOTR thank you guys for making this free. Sorry if its present in the mod but it's my first time playing it. Love to the team.

I followed the instructions and when I click on "Installer.exe", I have a "Fatal error detected : failed to execute script installer" ... How can I do ? Thanks!

I dont have Edain Installed. 4.1 launcher for Age of The Ring works perfectly. Have problem with the 5.0 installer.

I followed the Install guide and i have exactly this problem and i did add the options.ini (wich is stated as the solution to that problem). The thing is, it did nothing, i still can't start it since it still just crashes without any error message. I don't know what i should do now, i tried reinstalling everything four times already.
Ps: Not using any other mods, no edain, no Dagor Dagorath, nothing)
