Post news Report RSS ADVENTURE CRAFT: Blog #51 More Food, More Loot, More more

You know that feeling that you get when you've been fighting goblins and demon dogs all day and you really need some roasted frog legs and apple sauce? Me too! Check out today's update.

Today I went through a bunch of the existing biome chunks and increased the availability of food items. I wanted to make sure that when you are out adventuring, there is always some sort of option to get something to eat. Although there are some areas where the "pickins" will remain slim, like zombie graveyards and such.

This is a mainly a play testing process so it's a pretty fun thing to do! Although it's pretty easy at this point to play the game for way too long! It's crazy how fast an hour can go by. It's a fun problem to have while developing and a clue that things are going in the right direction.

I have also been looking at some of the existing ways to get food and items and making sure that they don't give out too much in order to keep the game balanced. Two full health potions and TWO golden apples from a single treasure chest! Maybe I should by a lotto ticket today.

I have also been adding more indicators for certain items like the forges and the work benches. These let you know if you are coming close to certain off screen items which is just another layer of navigating the world outside using the map. I'll probably add actual signs that you can drop as well.

Thanks for reading! Here's the current trailer for the game. Please check it out and leave us a comment!

You should put a download version to this because:
1. You'd get more viewers and popularity.
2. There are many more people besides myself, itching to play it, okay? :D
3. You'd get more feedback as to bugs in the game, and ideas to add.

Yeah sure, MULTIPLAYER! :D
What language is this made in, by the way. And what software do you use to record?

The game is coded in C++. I captured the footage using a program called Action! You can find that here. Actionrecorder.com

Will the game have classes or something like it? If you are going to add classes there is a exemple : Miner/Survivalist/Hunter/Woodcutter

We will give you a variety of tools and equipment sets that will allow you to create your own classes like the ones that you mentioned.
