A message to the ModDB community: Mods and downloads news

Hello!

Firstly, I just want to make note to all mod makers, we allow for mods to be added! We know, it's already announced, but really, we all eagerly want to see this game expand.
For some small scale things, I know it won't be needed. but for bigger scale mods (such as the You are the creeper, adventure mode, COD zombies, full blown campaigns etc.), the mod section is just waiting to be used! so, if you want to add your mod, just click this link, and you're on your way!

Now, secondly, I just want to start off by saying, I dislike rules and restrictions. But am now realising why some are needed. If you merely watch this page, and do not contribute to it, you are free to go and browse ModDB some more, or play Minecraft now. There will be nothing more news-wise here.

Lately, there have been influxes of spam uploads. Some dirt houses, some small tiny effortless houses, some Minecraft Seeds, and some texture packs which were put together with The Painterly Pack, and claimed as the uploader's own texture pack. Basically, this has to stop.

I plan to somehow make an upload rule thing to make your lives easier. Likely, add a feature, and a big link on the front page, not the small text on the front page, as we have right now.

Before finishing on such a sour note, I want uploaders to know, THIS IS ALL FOR YOUR OWN GOOD. Please, do not take that as patronising or insulting. But, you will not believe how heated this website can get.
In my early modding experience, I myself have been burnt on this site (multiple times) for doing the exact same thing some of you are doing. If you upload something small and effortless, you are sticking your hand into an oven, at the mercy of the ModDB community. Some will try to coax you hand out, while some others will simply turn the oven on, and try to shove you into it.

So, please, if you see an upload's been deleted, just remember I'm deleting it, not only for the watchers, but for you, the uploader, as well. I shall be sending out PMs to those I delete from this exact moment, onwards. But, if you really want to upload it, we've got a big link to our community group on the front page, where all (except the normal "no clients etc. etc.") Minecraft content is allowed.

And, before I end this small message, I just want to congratulate all uploaders, even those who we can't host on the main page. It's you guys who keep this page alive, not myself. ^^
