Post news RSS 3D Artists and Voice Actors Appreciated

Appreciating all help that can be had as far as 3Ds Max/Maya and voice acting skill is concerned.

Guten tag soldaten!

Many Cod2 players and those watching this mod have been wondering why it's taking me such a long time to release this mod when 95% of programming and scripting is done and has been done for some time.

The primary reason I have been unable to complete this mod as quickly I would like is because I lack a solid 3D modeling software. I have skills with Blender and Google Sketchup, but little with 3Ds Max or Maya and I couldn't afford either of them if I did. In order to attain a full Axis conversion, there are many vehicles which need replaced, and currently, there are no Cod2 models floating around the internet for an Allied halftrack, or an Allied armored car. All other vehicles besides those two have been replaced successfully. In the future, new weapons would be grand as well.

As I have mentioned before, I would consider 3D modeling help a trade-off, any 3D modeler working on another mod who can assist me will also get some help from me in some department of their mod, such as textures, code, or scripts. I will also provide a pre-release beta of the Waffen-SS mod to anyone who can help me in any way, 3D modeling or not. I would even consider donating money to a particularly exceptional modeler.

Otherwise, voice-acting is still a part of the mod I have been unable to find enough roles for. It would make no sense for all voiced characters to use my voice; I am simply not good enough at switching voices. I will always refuse to compromise and simply retrograde the voice acting to a computer generated voice, or use a German language mod which would still use incorrect and out of place words. Only the main and most important characters need human voice acting, and there are generally no more than 20 lines per character. Three characters are already fully voiced.

Furthermore, anyone with mapping skills and a good understanding of Hammer is welcome to assist me as well.

I am still motivated to release this mod and improve upon it in the future. It certainly isn't dead, but I will not release it before I feel comfortable enough with it's progress and content. Even if Back2fronts has some German missions, and there exists a few incomplete Axis mods on moddb or the now-dead Filefront, a complete, 100% total conversion German or Axis player mod has never been released in the history of Call of Duty 2. I intend to change that and have the energy to do such with semester finals coming to an end, yet I cannot do it successfully without the support of Cod2 players.

As I have recently discovered, Axis Player for Call of Duty World At War has risen from the ashes of war once again. I have confidence that this mod will likewise rise from the ruins of Moscow and the rubble of London to reach it's full potential. I would not ask for assistance otherwise if I had no faith in this mod.

Feel free to PM me under the account I am posting under if you have any questions, or would like to assist me with models or voice acting. I come online just about every day to check the site, and thus no PM will go unanswered.

Thank you all in advance for reading this article and especially to those who are still watching this mod after all these years.

If you'd like, you could try some of the radio voices where the static of the machine would cover over some imperfections in the voice. It beats an Englishman giving orders over the radio to German soldiers any day. :)
