ZombieMod takes a unique approach on the Zombie Apocalypse by putting it in the perspective of a military commander, not a survivor. Since it is 2 years after the first infections, resistance on the east coast is organized, resulting in battles rather than small groups fighting for survival.

In a zombie apocolyps wouldn't u wanna conserve ammo instead of letting it all go up in 1 big explosion? lol

Unless it's a trap set up to lure and kill enemy survivors...?

I think if your gonna have a big explosion then it needs to be when there are plenty of zombies around. Maybe have it on a detonator like the demolitions from regular CoH so you can choose to use it on a horde rather than if a single unit of zombies stumbles on to it.
That or give it an ability to lure in zombies. Sort of like the fall back and rally on the captain ability rather than the HQ that the British have.
The player loses control of their zombies and they all shamble towards the bomb. Like L4D's pipe bomb.

Lol you guys.

It's a simple trap; zombies walk by, set off the trap, and they explode. And yes, I've taken into account the fact that they wouldn't waste ammo, so thats why it's rather expensive, but does a great deal of damage.
