Main Features of ZeroFront

  • A third new campaign/era called DiabloFront @ Moddb.com
  • All kinds of improvements to the game engine to the extent that is currently possible.
  • Continued improvement to our SWBFSpy master servers, game servers, mods, and websites.
  • Improvements to the GUI and all other game files including tactical client mod enhancements of all kinds (togglers, crosshairs, moon map skins, etc.)
  • Custom shell missionlist script that adds a maximum of 255 stock maps to the game, compared to what shipped by default in version 1.2 (only 16 maps + Jabba's Palace).
  • Improvements to all the 17 classic stock maps, for improved AI pathing, hintnodes, death regions, and bugfixes for other map elements.
  • Optional pack for all of Phobos' tactical boost mods, such as crosshair/skin changers, pausemenu togglers, higher framerates, lunar ice reskins of various stock maps, and other buffs to stock LVLs.
  • All SWBF2 maps ported to BF1 stock shell such as Coruscant, Dagobah, Death Star, Felucia, Geonosis, Hoth, Kamino, Mustafar, Mygeeto, Polis Massa, Utapau, and the space maps.
  • Excluded prototype maps from Pandemic, which are being restored and improved by Phobos such as: Naboo Prototype, Geonosis Prototype, and ChainIsle.
  • Excluded ideas for maps in the original SWBF Game Design Document, for planets such as Thyferra, Kessel, Korriban, Ossus, Despayre Station, Raxus Prime, Corellia, Mon Calamari, Alderaan, & Bakura.
  • Tons of custom maps created by Phobos, most of which are built specifically for Alien Wars and Walking Dead eras.
  • Also some restored older mod maps from previous modders who gave us their permission, such as Eddie and Rends.
  • Extended Stock Campaigns for Galactic Civil War and Clone Wars. From only 7 maps now to 50 missions each, with new voiceovers!
  • Extended spawn menu for all missions in the game, for 10v10 units in team select, or 11v11 in auto assign servers. The game only allows 5v5 by default.
  • 5 Factions instead of only 2, so in addition to GCW and Clone Wars, there is now Alien Wars and Walking Dead era! All four factions will have 11v11 units each + support for all 250 new maps!
  • 5+ Campaigns instead of only 2. The Walking Dead Campaign already has Seasons 1-4 finished, with outlines for Season 5-10 and beyond! Alien Wars Campaign has outline too, but only Mynnic's Adventures #1-6 added for it so far. Also DTBC and more mini-campaigns added!
  • Cross-era battles supported too for instant deathmatch mode. Also new expanded game modes such as Skirmish, Assault, Capture The Flag are also being added using Phobos' workaround method for modded 1-flag support.
  • For now the 10v10 units are fairsides (ICW7 style), such as Empire + Rebel vs Rebel + Empire (same for other eras), with heroes playable in 11v11 auto assign. For final ZeroFront version, each faction will instead be expanded to feature 11 unique units each!
  • Much more that will be added to this over time, and some other unique ideas only mentioned on our private advanced SWBFmodders board.
  • ZeroFront when finished will have all assets, builders, and tutorials used to create this massive mod released for our community as the ultimate improved ZeroBuilder Mod Tools!
  • Regarding our SWBFSpy MP servers, there is still a limit of only ~25 maps per server session. We can host around 250 unique maps at once on our own 10 official game servers, with support for dozens of game servers! This is why I've broken up our game servers into main categories as explained on our website Swbfmodders.com<

Q - is it possible to hex edit the old 1.2 exe to change its data _lvl_pc folder to data _lvl_pc2 ? i basically want to creat a separate launcher for my mod so that it doesent effect the default game files at all.
A - That probably wont work. at most you could change the reference from _LVL_PC to _MOD_PC or something of equal character numbers. but there is another method you could consider which is what I'm doing. We might not be allowed to distribute this on MODDB becuse it contains all the files needed to launch game without having it installed first.
The method I decided to use (which hasn't been done before for SWBF1) is to install everything to C:\ZeroFront as a standalone mod that doesnt affect any of the game files in LucasArts or Steam Folder. The entire game files are contained in my new folder and its structured C:\ZeroFront\GameData\Data\_LVL_PC\ZERO
This takes affect as of patch v0.974 which is almost finished. This method allows the mod to run separate from the original game folders but also as a standalone game (like "no more room in hell" is to halflife engine) without having to swap out files constantly. If your mod repalce all the game files I recommend using this method or maybe use a subfolder within LucasArts.

Yes we are working on reversing the game and its associated EXE files (battlefront, sptest, server exe, and more) using advanced tools and neural networks. In the future we will have the game completely reversed into assembly code. For now we are basically using partial reversals with cheat engine memory hacks, hex edits, and other mod workarounds for the main features.

We can fix accidental bans, contact me on PM or steam, most likely your IP was similar to someone else who got banned for trying to DDOS our website or something else.

ZeroFront 0.974 patch was almost ready for May 31st but needs some additional testing. We plan to have it released later this month. In addition to this will be a few standalone map updates here on moddb, such as Geonosis Prototype, with added vehicles such as LAAT/c

With bigger mod project, it can take more time to fix bugs and random crashes due to the annoying game limits. This is why TWDZF v0.974 got delayed, it took a whole month to fix the new set of bugs that appeared after the latest massive upgrade. But now there are over 150 stock maps in the missionlist, with more still being added over the summer.

15 New Stock Map Ported from Renegade & Elite Squadron
Phobos will be porting all of the unique maps from Star Wars Renegade Squadron and Elite Squadron directly from the Jedi Academy source into SWBF1 for ZeroFront expansion. These maps will be added to the stock missionlist and extended campaigns just like the BF2 maps that Phobos has been porting. SWBFmodders has the map source for all 15 of these worlds which are being ported in Q4 of 2020 for ZeroFront v0.976
