Dang guys. Just when I was starting to think you couldn't push the envelope any further. First your discovery for dynamic object display on the galaxy map back in 2017, then FarSeer's parallax shadowing, now this! All of these new and creative ways to improve EaW, we'll probably hardly recognize it in a few years. Never cease to amaze.

Description

After 2 weeks of hard work, we have successfully created a true PBR shader for Empire at War. Thanks to the initial guidance and support from Gaukler, Doci and I worked on creating our own shader based off the Frostbite PBR Implementation.

What this does:
Our shader creates a more natural light, while also deepening shadows and creating a more encompassing shadow wrap around curved surfaces. Colors are more vibrant and most importantly the reflections are more accurate, and driven by a roughness map that provides a much more realistic and natural light experience. Being mostly a fragment shader, it works especially well with our detailed high resolution textures.

Please view the attached images, noting the default game shader above, and our new Vong PBR shader below, our team is very excited for this, it is a true Game Changer.
