How about one that can self-heal over time and heal nearby capital ships.
The Pride of Selonia, rebranded in GA battle markings to shed the fear of the imperialistic image, was a heavily modified Lancer Escort Frigate designed for special operations use. The Selonia featured an external mounted hangar bay, allowing it to carry an entire squadron of fighter on long extended missions into deep space. The Pride of Selonia was a rescue vessel, designed to venture deep into enemy territory to assist crippled warships needing spot repairs in order to make it back to safe havens.

It looks like a hiigaran ships from homeworld. But anyway it looks really good but with what vanilla ship can you compare its survivability ?
It has the same armor as a nebulon B, but it's shields are only comparable to a corvett's so that is like 1/2 shields of the Nebulon.
We are giving ships battle markings because if we just had 100 ships all grey, that would look a little boring. The minimalism of the Empire is gone, the 5th fleet was branded with Red trim but there were still other fleets in the Galactic Alliance. Blue and White were colors of the GA, and were used back in LAAT's during the Clone Wars. Having a little bit of color breathes some new life into the game, but we are reserving it mostly for hero units.
So its quite strong for something most comparable to the CR 90 and can repair ships and fighters and can launch fighters. Sounds like alot of fun.
About it looking like a hiigaran ships i wasnt complaining i like it when ships have alot of diffrent markings,patterns and decals.
The lancer could easily destroy fighters, freighters, corvettes and do damage to frigates , but a couple of hits from the heavy turbo of the Nebulon B would easily destroy the lancer. It wasn't a weak ship, but it wasn't protected as good as it should have been for a ship of its size, which is why it was for escort duty and not really assault missions.
I would imagine a DP20 would be able to destroy a Lancer, a DP20 has stronger armor, and 4 concussion missile launchers. Shields of both ships are about the same, but a dp20 is much faster. A CR90 would probably die, it had weaker armor.
you would think about the old persan army unit the immortals. they all had the same gear so you could kill them all and the empire would replace the entire unit like they never lost it. i think that as the idea with the nothing but identical ships of the empire. just another fear tactic. "rule through fear of power, rather then the use of it"

Aren't the firing arcs going to be heavily restricted below it due to that...giant hanger? It looks like its going to have a giant blindspot below it like an Avro Lancaster.
The rear turrets will be coded to face backwards, all turrets rotate 360 degrees and elevate gun barrels up and down.

For something so small, you have to stand in awe at the amount of detail these textures have.
And colour markings really bring life to the ship and kill the boring default gray.
