i love this ship
the first time i saw it was in the mod Zerox (made by zerox)
i send entire fleets of these that annihalated everything

also the design was amazing

will the turrets be moving on this model ?

That is the goal. We have tested ships with up to 60 turrets rotating.

The only ship of the recenf flood of pictures that has ion cannons is the liberator carrier. Even this one only has turbolasers (no 'ordinairy' lasers?). i'm curious about what role each laser type will play and wether they will be balanced differently than the vannila game (probably).

Larger ships will internal weapon systems, such as missile launchers and AA lasers. Ion weaponry functions the same way. Light ion cannons will be internal weapon banks, but large heavy ion weapons will be a type of special weapon, employed by only a few ships. This is part of the plan to create a diversified fleet with ships that perform specific roles.

You are correct that ships will be balanced much differently than vanilla EAW. As we showcase more ships, the roles will become more apparent and the use of certain ships will be more easily understood. The player will be able to create a good number of ships for the mod, but in order to succeed, the fleets will need to be balanced. While ions can reduce shields and drain power from Dovin Basals, they will have no effect on hulls of Vong ships. Hutt ships however, will suffer an emp type effect. Mass drivers will punch right through shields but do less damage to armor as they do to Yorik Coral. Lasers will burn through armor faster than they do Yorik Coral, but will be absorbed by shields. This is part of the balance act we wish to create.

that was really helpfull.
what will you do with the difference between concussion an proton missiles. and the super heavy concussion missiles (i mean will there be stronger variants) like the ones fitted on a kandossi for example. is there actually a distinct difference between lasers and turbolasers?

also will there be mention of more experimental and obscure (cannon) weaponery? if so i'm really excited :D
