Hol up... Do those A-wings have 4 smaller engines in the center?
Edit: Just looked it up, they are indeed thrust control jets. I knew the main engines were designed for thrust vectoring but that was it. Learn something every day.
Edit edit: Apparently some sources list that area as the power supply, rather than maneuvering/thrust control jets. Hmmm...
I actually never questioned the four small engines there...
But good to know that some sources back them up.
Our A-wing is from dice, which is from the movie prop
just thinking: wouldnt be those trusters more effective on top/bottom/left/right? otherwise it'd be fast forward, but couldnt really steer? okay i guess i shouldnt argue with star wars physic...

Well thrust vectoring is usually achieved by actually changing the angle of the engine itself, so it doesn't really matter where they are. They essentially pivot to push the craft whichever way it wants to go
