All materials necessary for installation/replacing original game TIE fighter are included along with installation instructions to teach everyone how to use this model. So I followed the instructions, and I have the new model in bases, but ships no longer release any TIE fighters. Do I have to edit the XML on all ships that carry them to detect the replaced fighter?
It depends what you have edited. If the vanilla tie fighters have a different name than this one then they will not spawn.
In the xml provided, the Tie fighter is called
TIE_LN_Fighter and the squadron is called TIE_LN_Fighter_Squadron.
You can either change what units deploy to this or comment out the vanilla tie fighter code and change it to
<SpaceUnit Name="TIE_Fighter">
<Variant_Of_Existing_Type>TIE_LN_Fighter</Variant_Of_Existing_Type>
</SpaceUnit>
or, we can just change the unit Models? :/
