The second release of Half-Life: Year of the Dragon. Featuring completely revamped controls, graphics, and more!
PLEASE READ EVERYTHING DOWN BELOW
Hello, and thanks for downloading the second demo for Half-Life: Year of the Dragon! This demo exists to show how far the mod has come since 2018, and set a baseline for what is to come in the future. There is still some info I recommend you read before starting the game up so keep moving your eyeballs downwards!
Do I still need Half-Life?
At the moment I'm testing the mod in a stand alone state. Just download and play!
Does this support controllers?
Yes! just like the last demo the mod does indeed support controllers. The controller support hasn't changed much since the last demo, and you still have to manually bind the buttons to whatever actions you want them to be. The menu for controllers is a bit better as you at least have a visual representation of the analog sticks to make sure everything is working correctly.
Bug reporting!
I implore for people to report bugs and to give their thoughts on the mod! It really helps with catching bugs sooner, and getting them fixed. You can send me a message here, or on Discord, or Steam. I don't frequently check this page so keep that in mind before reporting!
Thank you and enjoy!
oh hell yeah!
Oh, look, he's in the H.E.V. now :D
The freezer section was most frustrating part of a video game that I've played in a long time. For those wondering, to jump the gap in larger room in the freezer, you have to hold run (shift or right click), release run before you reach the edge, then press jump and jump again to go into a glide. Do not hold jump.
You can also flutter just like in Spyro 2, and 3. Towards the end of a glide hit your use key to perform it, and gain more height. Makes platforming easier.
Thanks for the help, MN. The mod was certainly a breathe of fresh air and a fun challenge.
Credits map seems to be broken for me, like if there is a problem with view positioning, and the player is outside of that point he's intended to be (or outside of map brush borders at all). Tried with different settings with no luck. Whole the text is unreadable (it's smearing over the screen into a white blur), only models can be seen.
P. S. The demo visually is beautiful, maybe gameplay could be improved a bit (some clues for puzzle solving e. g. and a training mission to describe how to use your character's abilities).
Le epique
Can't get to play the mod. I placed "valve" folder in the mod via using .bat file, but it still asks me to provide the files. What should I do?
Redownload the mod. I pushed a update that copies the same method as Signal Lost and makes the mod stand alone. Just download and play.
Thanks alot ;]
Neat demo BTW.
What do I do if it says "VCRUNTIME140.dll was not found"?

P. S. Aim for the Google if you can't find it :D
Now I'm getting error code 0xc000007b.
You probably installed incorrect version of Visual C++ (x64 package is recommended if your Windows is x64). Or installation was incomplete. Reboot your PC and try again, reinstall Visual C++ components otherwise, check your system event journal for details. Drivereasy.com Answers.ea.com If those tips do not help, try to update your video drivers or check your system for errors with CCleaner.
Yes
Keeps crashing.
Can you make a Linux version?
When will be full version?
eventually
Hi. I think old ps1 model was better. How can i use it?
You cannot for this demo. Maybe in a future one it'll be added back in.
Nice Job Magic, I think this one is gonna be the best demo yet. Quaintly excited to try it out
