XWVM is a mod to the original Star Wars: X-Wing game from Lucas Arts and Totally Games by Larry Holland and Edward Kilham. Our goal is to rebuild the game engine with newer technologies that allow it to run and make use of the latest hardware and improvements in gaming hardware. The mod will require the player to own and have installation of the original Star Wars: X-Wing game, or have the GOG or Steam versions of X-Wing Special Edition (either the 1993 floppy, the 1994 CD, and/or 1998 Windows edition). XWVM neither contains nor distributes any copyrighted material. All game resource files (missions, voiceovers, SFX, iMUSE automaton, etc) are loaded from the player's copy of the original game, or are original creations of our team, where the original resources are considered inadequate for today's standards.

WIP (obviously!) - I'm happy with the overall shapes, I'm just circling around on the details now.

So, the plans for the ship to hold the plans for the Death Star, interesting, very interesting...

On a serious note, I dig the side detail. I know ships could dock in X-Wing, is the new engine gonna allow for more detailed docking methods? Than just, you know, parking next to the ship until objective is complete.

We need to support the docking method that was used in the original game because otherwise some things can go very wrong. Entire missions can fail just because a ship is a bit too much in this direction and another collides with it.
In the future, with other custom game modes, we could support additional docking points as seen in Rebels.
I am not sure if you meant that, or you were thinking on something else.

Oh no, you answered my question precisely. Just with all this front end Unity stuff, I keep forgetting how limited the X-Wing engine actually was lol. Love the game and look forward to this long over-needed remaster of this game.

:D It's Beautiful. Can't wait to sit behind its engines and blow it away safely.

Description

What would a Star Destroyer be without something to park inside its hangar bay?

TerryB presents the CR-90 Corellian Corvette, also known as the Blockade Runner.
With the major shapes done, the focus will shift to any missing details.
