Xiani's Freeplay Start mod for Shadow of Chernobyl provides a nice sandbox alternative to the critically acclaimed title. This is a repack i made of which contains a handful of vanilla friendly enhancements and maybe more will be on the way.

Nice, I always wanted this mod for Soc. So I can do Coc like freeplay in Soc setting. Thanks.... Hope it's vanilla-ish
This mod is WAAAAAAAAAAAY older than CoC, in fact it served as the main inspiration for it's free play style of gameplay.
Its more like vanilla+ the mod includes the absolute texture packs and the OWR weapon pack which only changes how the guns look so its just graphical changes and a few tweaks that stick to vanilla gameplay
