Pretty simple, you get to play WW1 instead of WW2. You can start in 1910 and fight your way through the Italian-Ottoman war and the Balkan wars, or jump straight into the action in January 1914 in preparation for the main event. The events, leaders, ministers, governments, orders of battle, tech tree, units, graphics, game mechanics and AI have all been rewritten. Game features include: Units will dig in much more effectively meaning stalemates happen much more frequently to simulate trench warfare. Naval battles are more action packed as Dreadnoughts clash and there are (nearly) no aircraft carriers. Military aviation is in it's infancy but quickly becomes more important as the war progresses The mod includes stormtroopers, zeppelins, gas warfare and submarines Special scenarios for the Spring Offensive and Gallipoli campaign

hello dizzle , I played the ww1 mod , but I saw that the battles are too short , and have a few losses , so to make it more realistic battles I've modified the file defines.lua increasing the damage caused by the conflict and minimize the effect of organization , so as to increase the time of a combat :
LAND_COMBAT_STR_DAMAGE_MODIFIER = 2.0,
LAND_COMBAT_ORG_DAMAGE_MODIFIER = 2.2,

Reducing the days of " Dig- in" from 10 to 2 , and increasing the bonus of the doctrine of trench warfare to 10 you will start a war of movement, but the development of technology will reduce the chances of rapid advanced ...

Another thing I would suggest is to decrease the BASE_STACKING_PENALTY for many units to the front, ( for example 0.05) and decrease the number of IC for the construction of all the infantry , in order to simulate the millions of men employed at the front. ..

By doing all this, some battles will result in approximately 40,000 losses :)
Obviously the manpower will be over soon and needs to be increased to about 100 in each capital city , I have tried to put 100 in Berlin , 75 in Paris, Vienna and London 60 , and 50 roma .. MOSCA about 200 (since tsarist armies had more than seven million men ) sorry for bad inglish!

sprites can't be modded without an extremely expensive ($10k) piece of software. So we are stuck with WW2 anyway.

Real men use counters :)

But I have random flags for each country? E.g. AUH has Denmark's flag, German empire has soviet union's flag? I've deleted the flag files from gfx folder?

You shouldn't have to delete anything. Just unzip to hoi3/TFH/mod folder

And nope, flags still not correct, I put it straight into the mod folder and I'm still getting denmark for AUH, soviet union for Germany and West germany for the italians.

Hmmm, are you playing the TFH version? It uses the vanilla map so shouldn't require a rebuild. Try deleting all the caches (in my documents) and getting vanilla working first. Once vanilla works no rebuild is needed

Yes I have TFH with 4.02 patch. TFH runs without problems. Black Ice also works fine. Although vanilla works, the game creates a folder in My Documents for this mod. During a long time creating maps(1 - 2 hours) I have crash.

Are you getting checksum GSKH with vanilla? Have you tried copying the map cache from my documents to the ww1 my documents subfolder?

hey, i have a problem with the game that make it crash after a few minutes
of start to play as a nation. ┬┐Why does it happen?

it appers a message "hoi3_tfh.exe has stopped working"

the normal version of the game(without mods) works perfect.

The Spanish problem is solved, I started from an older autosave, so I could skip it, but the game crashes randomly with the mod, and I have to load older autosaves all the time. Are there any solutions to make that stable? Thx, Komjatius

Really haven't seen this. Most likely solution is if you have accidentally put the mod into your mod folder rather than your TFH/mod folder. Stability is as good as vanilla for a large number of us who play multiplayer.

If you're seeing weird stuff like the Spanish civil war then you've done something wrong. The TFH/mod thing is the most likely

No, sorry for that, but I can read, and I did exactly what you wrote. Everything is in the correct place. The game is running, the mod is running, for a while. AFter a while crashes are coming up. So, you should test the problem, on different computers, who knows, what can make the problem.

checksum is displayed on the main menu... should say Hoi3 4.02 (GSKH) when you load without the mod and (ZZJD) when you load with the mod. If it doesn't say this when you load without the mod then you have something wrong with your vanilla install. If the checksum is wrong with the mod then something is wrong with your mod install

I have a little problem. It's 1917, not quite October, but every in-game week, the "Treaty of Brest-Litovsk" event occurs, even though it's not even October yet. It's not game destroying, because I can start from an earlier save and it fixes itself, but it is rather annoying. Could anyone help me with this?
