any way later on you could make an exe icon that loads the game instead of the bat file. be nice to have a sexy icon than a bat shortcut
Create a shortcut and change the icon to one of your chosing. I just used Amnesia's icon, inverted.
For MAC users:
On a mac you open the terminal and then you can type (assuming you installed Amnesia in Applications):
open /Applications/Amnesia.app --args wn_config/main_init.cfg
You can also use Applescript and create bat like launcher:
Go to Applications/Utilities and start the AppleScript Editor then type:
do shell script "open /Applications/Amnesia.app --args wn_config/main_init.cfg"
and save as... Application and then it is good to go.
It doesn't work. It opens Amnesia, but the custom story is not there.

is not the custom story, its the main campain
just copy the unzipped files into the rootfolder of amnesia
it will ask if you will overwrite the other files but thats ok. overwrite them and start amnesia.
but overwriting those files will **** your amnesia the dark decent game
I am using Amnesia through steam and have a mac. I tried using the terminal/macscript, but that doesnt work. Can anyone who has steam and a Mac OS please help
You should get Izip from the app store, it is free and then watch a tutorial on youtube, it is super easy :D
It doesn't matter whether you have steam or not, just download iZip from the mac app store and when you download CS they will automatically download as an iZip file. this makes them work properly. Hope this works, if it doesn't, check up on youtube, if it does, Enjoy!

ok so installed it with the zip thingy first when you drag everthing to the root file and now i cant open my opions my profile names arent showing and my custom stories i cant open either so then i installed it with desura and still the same thing but now i can play white night at least help plz

Can't get it to work, the BAT file never extracts to the redlist folder like its supposed to....Sucks I really wanted to play it.
Okay I got it to download right but now it says "could not load main init file: wn_config/main_init.cfg....help plz?

Use Desura if you are having problems installing the mod.

yes if you download patch 1.2
actually, if you have the same experience as i did when i used the skidrow version, you will get a message acting for your serial code (or something to that effect) and the 00000000000000 code wont work.

I have the same problem as leandrofrodo. When I open the door to the hospital, the game closes and a popup reading the same as leandrofrodo said appears. What can i do to solve this? I so wanna continue playing the game!!! Please help
FOR EVERYONE WHO CANNOT OPEN WHITE NIGHT IN AMNESIA!!! READ!! When you exctract the files for White_Night.rar/.zip, then you have to go to the folder in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\amnesia the dark descent" for steam users, and "C:\Program Files (x86)\Amnesia - The Dark Descent\redist" for direct buyers and Redist buyers. FOR STEAM USERS! Go to that specified folder, and then DON'T click the "custom_stories", but instead click the "White_Night.bat". It doesn't say .bat in the end, but you know how the icon will look like, I know you will... But enough of the scary ped0 )#"=, the redist buyers will have to find in the specified folder too. After that, it will say "Couldn't load main init file: wn_config/main_init.cfg" And I haven't come further. Tanshaydar have to complete my full instruction from now on.

Gah! please help me I need a dumb mans way to install this on a Mac OS X version 10.6.8. I understand how to install the mod if amnesia was in my applications, but its not. I have it installed through steam! Please tell me theres still a way to get this mod working. :/ I've been trying for several hours and really want to play it!
You need to find your Amnesia installation folder. I don't use Mac, so I don't know how. The solution I wrote down wasn't mine either.
