It's been years in the making, and God knows it doesn't feel like nine years since I started modding. I started Westernesse in late 2012 with some crazy intention of having a release mid 2013, and of course that didn't happen, but it seems that every time I did something, I'd have to fix the bugs surrounding it, and just manage to get it in game. But even now, nearly into September 2015, it feels like nothing has happened, and in a way that's true. The truth is that Westernesse is an awful mess, with none of the new assets in game not working due to unexplainable errors that nobody knows how to fix, and for the last half a year I've been struggling by with the semi-functional tools I've got. I think it's time to call it quits now, since I'm off to university to study this type of thing full-time, and while I've lost no interest in finishing Westernesse, I've come to the realization that it's just too far gone now, and that I will never be able to complete it.
I'm grateful for all the support you have all given me, and I'm sorry for those who awaited a release, but I think the time has come to say farewell.
Namárië.
So after ... a fairly long hiatus, Westernesse is back with both the good and evil structure model basics finished!
I thought it was about time I made some activity around here, so ask away!
Here are the working maps from Westernesse, Minas Ithil, Minas Anor, Aglarond and Angrenost, which can be used simply by placing the unzipped file into...
Irene here is the idea for the Elves and Rohan:
Rohan should be named North-Men and it should have Eorl as a main Hero, and it should have something like Archers Of Dale, because men of Dale And Esgaroth are connected with Rohan.
Then for the Elves you should call them somehthing like the Firstborn or The Eldar or Children Of Eru
Gondor And Arnor-Descendants Of Numenor or Edain or Dunedain or Elendili or Faithful Numenoreans.
Mordor And Goblins(Wild)-Durchin or Evil Forces or something else, that's all for now i could think of. :)
Bear in mind that 'Rohan' is a part of the Elendili faction, as are what becomes Arnor and Gondor - they are not separate factions, and the Éothéod we see are more mercenary units than loyal ones, so if we are to have Eorl as a Hero, he would be recruited from the Inn rather than the fortress, as with the Éothéod. However, good idea about Dale, they would too be a good addition. Hence, Elendili will stay named as Elendili.
Annûndili, however, literally means 'the Fair Northwestern People', thus referring directly to the Elves without breaking the tradition of Quenya naming.
However, I'm considering giving the Black Númenórean faction a new name to follow suit, because that seems to be a name by which their enemies would describe them, rather than what they call themselves. I'll give that a little thought. Any suggestions in the meantime?

Let's see:
Corrupted Men
King's Men
Fallen Ones
Worshipers Of Darkness\Shadow
Followers Of Sauron
....I will post more names soon :D
Er... meant in Quenya or a native language. And to the point, what self-respecting person calls themselves corrupted? :p
In answer to this, I've ended up with Adûnaim. This literally means "Númenóreans", which might seem like a copout of a name, but I think the Black Númenóreans themselves would consider themselves not some sort of evil variation of the Elendili, but as the true heirs of Númenor, the stronger ones for rising against the Valarian curse of mortality - hence they would likely differentiate the Elendili as not Númenórean, but as a different faction, and see themselves as the 'real' Númenóreans.
Very Good!
Oh in Quenya, give me 10 minutes
Nope,i can't find nothing :P
Hello, are you going to add more Lairs (and lair units)? Apart from that, I believe it would be nice if the elves include Vanyar units, Maiar and maybe some Avari mercenaries.
Good luck with your mod (I like the Ahyaroa, how large or small will it be compared to a Troll?)
In terms of lairs and neutrally aligned units, there are a few ideas floating around. For one, there are the Hyamentiri, who will dwell in extremely large nests spanning around the size of four fortresses. Dunlending hunting parties and camps will also be scattered about the maps in Western Middle-earth, twinned with Rhun scouting parties and Orc troupes roaming the East. In a few largely forested areas, there will of course be Ents, which will be friendly to Elven units unless they come too close. Goblins lairs, of course, will still be present, as with a revised version of the Troll cave. Corsair ships, sharks and Sea-Wyrms will also be a hazard in coastal and maritime conflicts.
As such, the Elven multifaction is probably the least planned out, so I will take your ideas into account, thank you :)
im very interested in this mod the images gave me a hope for this game again...but i want to know more about what are u planning about the old factions men elvis etc... and what are the changes basically?
Elves and the Men of the West (ie Rohan and settlers in early Gondor) have been combined to make the Annûndili, and Wild and Mordor with elements of Isengard have become the Orc faction, the Dûrchîn.
That sounds AWESOME
Okay, just realized I've screwed up a little. Elendili is the faction based on the faithful Numenoreans, but also merges Gondor settlers, early Rohirrim tribes and part of the Elven faction, whereas the Annûndili is the Northwestern Elven people, of Rivendell, the Grey Havens, and the Undying Lands. Apologies for the confusion.
