It's not even a helmet, it's just a shield boss ;) but the 4k textures are just for the render, I can change the resolution or the UV maps at any time, thus to make it game ready won't be a problem.
I understand that it won't be a problem to change , but won't it be too much, even for 2k textures, for one axe or shield boss?:) .For Skyrim for example it won't be, but for mount and blade there will a lot of objects on a battle map and if every sword will be with that kind of quality it might become problem ,don't u think. i am just trying to understand what texture quality u think would be optimal
As I said, I will certainly have to decrease the texture resolution to make the assets game ready. Though for the raw assets and the renders here I don't see anything to prevent me from using a higher resolution. In order to know the optimal texture size for the game I'll need to test the assets in the actual game but that will have to wait until atleast release. Though I guess 2k would be the maximum.
What texture resolution are u using ?
For this one I think I actually used 4k texture maps for the render. The ingame version will certainly need to be scaled down a bit.
wow... 4k texture just for one helmet ? Or there are more than one on the same texture ?
