Wars of the East is a large-scale modication for The Battle for Middle-earth: The Rise of the Witch-king. It adds 2 new playable factions, over 140 new units/heroes, new structures, new skins, new powers and more!
WotE indroduces the Evil Men of Middle-earth as their own faction, along with a never-seen faction, Dorwinion. Goblins have been removed from the game, and most of their units have been moved to Angmar or Mordor.
All the existing factions have also been modified so that they have plenty of new units, heroes and powers. To make things even better, the mod includes lots of hero and unit reskins, and many of the heroes have in fact been completely redesigned.
The newest Beta (v1.06) includes Dorwinion and Evil Men factions plus lots of the new units and heroes, particularly evil ones. The Beta can be downloaded here: Ithronaiwendil.the3rdage.net

I can't get this to run any longer. What update is it for, 2.0 or 2.1? I used to be able to get this to work a while back, but now it just runs the vanilla game, even though I change the target in the s/c... =/

Yes, Ithron retired, I took over a while to try and fix the issues(such as being unable to save/load) but some of them seemed so worked into the core there was no fixing it, and life took over so I was also unable to continue beyond a prototyped half-done v4 that was planned as a finale.
When I try to save, or try to recruit Gil-Galad, or try to play more than half an hour, or create a custom hero, or recruit a custom hero, the game crashes. Apart from that, it's a decent mod.

Don't use gay factions, disable custom hero. While this mod does have some self righteous West factions, it is distinct from other mods for putting in equal effort for evil factions. There are a million other mods that have variations on every boring elf unit and hero

Wow, 3 people disliked my comment, that's quite significant. Was it from ugly losers jumping to the heroic defense of a poser girl or is this place genuinely full of homosexuals? It's not like she's going to actually have sex with any of you, not that it matters to the kinds of retards who disagree with me, but still. Either way, more dislikes are always nice. In addition, don't try and recruit Gil-Galad, I know it's a default for a girl to do so because your fundamental understanding of everything leads you to assume the role of self righteous morons in video games, but try and transcend your gender/intellectual handycap.

People dislike my comments because they can't read. The idiot woman retaliated with a stream of words that made no sense and she got 4 positive votes. So logically, what can be derived from this? The people who gave her positive votes have no intellectual capacity, nor need for basic punctuation. They want to be heroes, men of the west, jumping to the aid of a retarded bitch who has failed to demonstrate any linguistic rules that are hammered in from second grade.
