Warmod is a gamemode for Gary's Mod using the Fretta base, set in the Half-Life universe that tries to bring together sandbox, deathmatch, and RTS elements into a single cohesive experience that immerses players in cooperative and strategic combat.
To be successful players will have to work together to gather resources and to build up a base. Teams are given the equipment they need in order to start a base, but little else than that. In order to have a chance at victory, players will have to work together to gather resources, upgrade and fortify their base, and manufacture weaponry.
Gameplay is centered around each teams base. Both teams are given at the start of the match a deployer, which when used, spawns three essential pieces of equipment, the Mold, the Drill, and the Smelter. With these mighty implements, a base is forged. Drawing elements from the very earth itself, the Drill gathers raw resources that can be used to construct things. Once these raw resources are gathered, they're sent to the Smelter, which takes them and refines them into steel and concrete and uranium and other magnificent things as well. The Mold then takes these things and makes them into usable things, like walls, and weapon factories.
Once you've gathered resources till you're blue in the face, and are armed to the teeth with every weapon imaginable upgraded with pure, liquid awesome, You'll need something to unload all of that pent up rage you'll have. Luckily, there's another team across the map gift wrapped just for you. The Largest, and some would argue the most important, aspect of gameplay is of course combat. What would any gametype be without it? Your objective is simple, kill the other team.

After a small break upon completing Warmod 1.0, We all sat around and really looked at our creating. Yeah it was fun for the initiated, and yeah it was our baby, built from the ground up with love and a whole hellova lot of work, it wasn't what we wanted. And so the process of overhauling Warmod began. First we looked at providing players with information, and making things more simple, 'cause a lot of you were looking Warmod over because it was just to confusing. We think we've fixed that, simplifying the base building process and providing players with tool tips and gameplay hints. The other problem we found was that Warmod was increadibly imbalanced. I personaly spent time analysing gameplay and weapon balance. This resulting overhaul completely replaces all of Warmods weaponry, designed from the ground up to be balanced and satisfying. To acompany these weapons, we expanded upon the perk concept and replaced with with a pseudo class system that rewards players for kills with bigger and better bonuses. We hope that these changes will do Warmod justice.
