Theres an error at the end of the installation saying:
"IPersistfile::Save failed; code 0x80070005.
Accesss is denied."
Your download was probably corrupted, otherwise 300+ people would have reported the same error.
Hey man, are you trying to install it from NAS drive by any chance?
I had once problem with installation from NAS and then tried to copy installator to local disc and installation was succesfull then.
I don't remember exact error message, but I think it was similar to yours.

Enter the files? Just run the installer and point it to the folder where vampire.exe is located.
All the way up to 11.4 now! That's awesome! How many more updates do you think you'll be doing? You think you're almost done restoring and updating the game, or far from it? Just curious.
I had high hopes that 11.3 was the last patch, but now I target 11.5 as the final. There is nothing more that is easily to restore, the fixes get minor and minor and I think after 20 years of patching next year it should be good ;)!

It's a shame knowing that there are parts of this world we will never see regardless of how much effort is put into the task.

I wouldn't say "parts of this world". Except for the whole East-LA hub with connected quests that was cut before it even was designed, I believe most unused locations are in the game. There are some mechanism, like carrying bodies, or weapons, like more grenades, that we can't restore, but you don't really need them. I made a list of this stuff at the end of the patch readme...

No, this sometimes happens because of a false positive. Allow it and test it with Virus Total if you don't trust me ;)!
Of course we trust you: You are all about bloodsucking, deceiving, and backstabbing Kindred after all. Also: Your patch quality has always been high, even, when 2.5 still was science fiction. ;-)
Yes this was recognised as a trojan :/ "Trojan:Win32/Spursint.F!cl"
From how many of the tests? Try any other file you have, some will always trigger, as long as the majority detects nothing the file is fine!
Windows defender recognised it as such, it deleted it instantly with lots of warning lights.
You can allow it manually.
Does it work with the clan quest mod?
Both can be run from one installation using the loader, but the mustn't be merged!
It doesn't download a .exe file, but this weird unconfirmed228074.crdownload file. What am I doing wrong?
Then the download probably got aborted with only this temporary file left.

Have you tried to download 11.3 from Nexus Mod instead? Does it happen there too?
Some antivirus is cancelling your download because it thinks you're downloading a virus.
I already noticed that, but at the moment there is little I can do.
Can we install 11.4 on 11.3? I mean it wont be problem right?

I encounter a bug during the quest "The Italian Dinner"
I tried the peaceful method by persuade the couple in front of mansion into giving me their invitation.
If i picked the "female" invitation, since i play as female. The guard allowed me to get it but the door into the mansion get locked ( It had open door icon before that, after I gave him the invitation, the door's icon turned into locked icon. Therefore my character will attempt to unlock it instead of open it)
Talked to the guard again did not solve the problem
That was a bug in the last RC, just install the latest file on top and it should be fixed when loading from a save before you go to the mansion!

The latest patch always includes all earlier versions.
have you guys figured out that glitch that happens with the mouse wheel that will just randomly drain your blood and use bloodheal?
I never heard that before. Have you assigned Bloodheal to your mousewheel using the Hotkeys?
This happens for me while using the latest UP+ 11.4
It happens whenever I load a save where I am holding a weapon, or load into another map while holding a weapon and then try to switch weapons with mouse wheel.
Switching disciplines works, but when I press T to switch weapons with mouse wheel, (or don't press T, if I had my weapon scroll toggled in the save or before the loading) and start scrolling, it starts spamming bloodheal for every mouse wheel scroll, often wasting a ton of blood.
It can be fixed by holstering the weapon, and afterwards it works normally. This doesn't happen when I have my weapons/fists holstered during the time of the save, or before the map change loading.
If this is connected to saving we won't be able to fix this, there are multiple open issues caused by the buggy save system. It can also be that this is the reason why Troika hid this UI switch option in the first place, like with the histories crash...
Wesp5, thanks for the all the great work you have done and much appreciate the years of work. I have been using your patch for a very long time. The 11.4 patch for some reasons I can not download from moddb as both Malwarebytes and MS Defender are both blocking it! MS Defender is saying it is infected Trojan:Win32/Spursint.F!cl. I know it is likely a false positive but rather both MS Defender *and* Malwarebytes block a file at the same time. Is there another safe site you recommend I can download the 11.4 patch, until Moddb or Malwarebyte or MS defender add to the white list? Thanks
I don't think this is related to the site, but to some hash that is similar to a Trojan.
Hello, I've been using the patch for a few years now but unfortunately I haven't been able to play the game since it bugged out in 2021.
I've attempted to delete the game files and the patch files in between each reinstall, but I continue running into the same problem. Once I finish character creation, the loading screen appears and the game crashes before it finishes loading.
I'm not sure how to go about remedying this but I figured here would be the best place to ask, thank you for your work in keeping this game alive.
Is there anything special about your system?
Not that I know of, the patch worked great and I was able to play the game for a bit before it bricked and now I can't get it to go past the character creation screen.
Try removing all your old saves.
I've wiped all related files from my computer and attempted to reinstall, but still no luck it bricks at the same point as before.
Could it be a problem with where the game files are being stored? As they're currently under
C:> Program Files (x89)> Steam> steamapps> common
I never heard that this location might be a problem.
