...... really? flak? not a nimitz class carrier. actually i think really any after WW II. it had missle launchers and some CIWS which are basically gatling guns. primarily carriers rely on escort ships or fighters to take out enemy aircraft/missles
That's the USS Enterprise (CVN-65). The only ship of her class. See the boxy conning tower? A few nuclear powered guided missile cruisers and destroyers had similar superstructures.
The standard intercept armament is the RIM-6 Sea Sparrow and the Phalanx CIWS.
