A total-conversion for Doom inspired on NAM/Napalm 98 and Rising Storm Vietnam. Features jungles, reasonably accurate period weapons, and lots of gore, environmental destruction, and soon to feature demons too. This is still Doom after all.

The first playable alpha of VietDoom has been publicly released.
This alpha contains 5 levels (Map01, Map02, Map03, Map04, and Map09).
Keep in mind this an ALPHA, it has some bugs... many bugs to be honest. But you can play the demo levels just fine.

I have also opened the forum for reporting bugs (oh I know there will be a lot of them).

i just played today and it doesnt work when i die.. it doesnt respawn again.. it keeps on the ground bleeding and thats it

Nice Work man! At this rate I might have to surrender my self given title of best forests (created in my Star Trek GZDoom holodeck sequence and my Quest For Glory IV 3D Hexen GZDoom forests lol) in doom engine lol!

cant play the mod i i drag vietdoom over my gzdoom it loads and then it says the folowing lines

Hey Sarge! Vietnamese demon slayer here. I've been a fan of Brutal Doom for nearly 3 years now.
When you announced VietDoom, I was excited to see the historical potential that the mod have. And as a Vietnamese, it is my job to correct errors within the mod (mostly historic inaccuracies) and notify back to you.
I'm looking toward for hearing you soon!

Why can't you aim down the iron sights of the m16 or m14 or the other conventional arms like smgs rifles(not including the sniper rifle)and tje shot gun. I mean if I'm fighting pixelated Charlie I should be able to aim right?

As he have stated within the FAQ and I'll quote:
"Pretty much like Brutal Doom in Vietnam, but a bit more classical in some parts and more realistic at others, because there is no aiming down the sights. You can switch weapons to semi-auto mode, if you fire full-auto, they have recoil and you need pull the mouse down to compensate it. Each gun has its recoil, firing a M16 on full auto is obviously much easier than firing a M14. You may need to spend some time on the boot camp to master all the weapons."
There won't be ADS in this mod, sorry...

It's a work-in-progress, but what is here is hugely promising. It is very different than your typical Doom WAD though so your mileage may vary depending on how flexible you are with adapting to a new playstyle. If work on this keeps progressing and improving at the rate it currently appears though, there is no doubt that this will be a classic.
