I'm just curious -- what do you do now that you've finally managed to make a singleplayer game function as multiplayer? And if you plan to continue this modding trend -- might I suggest trying some other games? Maybe KotOR? I understand The Force Unleashed has unused multiplayer scripts -- but that's honestly more far fetched than a multiplayer KotOR game.

the games youve mentioned are completely different, and its not easy to simply mod a game, then switch to another game with a completely different engine,
especially when adding multiplayer

Maxen is on the ball with this one, for the moment being expect to only see this multiplayer mod for the fallout games.

Would be nice to extend it to other singleplayer games, but we have to be realistic.

Since the engine is so close to Oblivion, is it possible for it too?

The thing with Oblivion's multiplayer mod is that it's more dead than dead and not even functionnal. Not properly at least.
Your's seems already way more advanced.

To clarify -- how will you be using this in the game? Are you thinking specific multiplayer modes or what?

When you setup your server, you can choose the game type. MMO, deathmatch, the balls in your court when it comes to customization.

You will also be able to install mods. If you wish to play on a server with mods, you need to have the exact same mod data in your folder as everyone else. For anyone who has played fallout with mods, you will know how easy this is to do.

Yes, I've got heartaches by the number. And one of them is the fact that I can't play this yet. :(

This is really awesome, here's an idea, when you press to talk near them, a chatbox pops up where the dialogs would normaly be. Looks really great now and looking forward to the release of this, exactly what Bi games are missing.

This has to be perhaps the most interesting project here on ModDB. Looking forward to the release of VaultMP. Luckily there are quite a few mods out there for making this an excellent mod - V.A.T.S would most likely prove a bit difficult in MP ;)

so is V.A.T.S just going to be removed?

That would be my guess... or replaced by some more convenient system. Bullet-time might also prove difficult for multiplayer.

VATs has been removed, It may be that due to its nature in relation to the multiplayer scripts that it will stay that way in-definitively.

I never understand how these Bethesda games get multiplayer mods, doesn't that require modding of the engine?

Theres a few other games out there that have multiplayer mods, good example is the GTA mp mod.

What makes bethesda games so attractive to make mp mods for is the fact its so easy to mod with things like the script extender and geck.
