US Intervention (USI) is a modification based upon the Persian Gulf War in 1991 where about half a million US troops fought among other allied forces to liberate Kuwait from the Iraqi forces. The mod was originally created for Battlefield Vietnam. We felt that Battlefield 2 would be a better alternative so we started building there. The first release came out in May 2006 with a lot of content. In the same month a hot fix was released after a new patch was created for BF2. Every new release is meant to build upon the previous release adding more vehicle, maps, game modes and overall environment. Version 2.0 is due out soon with 83 different weapons firing 33 types of ammo, 76 vehicles, and 18 levels to battle on. Realism is a key factor this mod follows in the creation of the content. With some real and possible events being portrayed in every map. The battles have been evened out to give both sides a chance of winning. Teamwork is the key.

Here we are again with another update from the US Intervention mod team. Progress is slow, however work still continues on map and gameplay fixes. We are nearly 50% ready towards the next release. We do not like the pace at which things are getting done, but work still continues. After all, we owe our dedicated fans who have stuck around for so long, this great desert warfare mod. Today we wish to show of 4 new items we have finished coding for USI 2.0.

These items were almost cut from the next build, but with a little help, we got them done. We decided to aid the rescue and medical field by creating medivac versions of the UH-60 and MI-17 helicopters. Pilots can land/pick up wounded soldiers and fly around out of harms way while soldiers heal up. Then they can return to the frontline to drop em of for battle.

There are no weapons on these helos, so it is highly suggested that pilots get in and get out as quickly as possible.

We also added the BTR-50 and M548A1 Apcs. We have had these for some time but never included them in any builds since we already have so many vehicles to play with. So we figured “why not” and threw them in for all to enjoy.

Our AI codes has been getting some tweaks as well so that SP and Co-Op fanatics can still play if they can’t join any servers. SP will support 16 bots while Co-Op will have 32. These settings can be changed
to have more bots if the player decides to but it is not recommended for low end computers due to lag. With the help from fellow mod members of Project Reality, our next update is due to show how we have added thermal imaging to some of our vehicles. Only vehicles that actually used it in the 91 gulf war will have it tho. Again to all those who still await our release, we thank you for your support and patience. US Intervention Mod Team
