"Where Quake meets reality" is the motto the developers of Urban Terror have adopted. While many mods these days tend to focus on realistic game play, Urban Terror takes a "fun over realism" approach to the FPS arena by keeping the Q3 speed and physics.

Report RSS Urban Terror 4.1 Released

On December 22, FrozenSand, LLC released their latest version of Urban Terror, v4.1. This was the follow up to the successful release of v4.0 back in April, 2007. While this update was intended to be a "quick patch" it turned into something much more involved. There were many bug fixes and changes as well as time spent on updating current and older levels, including the addition of community created levels in the release.

THE RELEASE FEATURES:

  • Working IP ban system.
  • Duplicate name protection (Trade off, you can't use spaces in your name anymore).
  • Removal of white skins.
  • New and updated levels
  • Updated UI and default settings.
  • /rcon players command, returning map/score and per player: name, team, score, ping, IP.
  • No votes within first 60 seconds of a map.

BUG FIXES:

  • Fixed hit bug when crouching and moving.
  • Several spawn locations fixed.
  • Negev reload exploit fixed.
  • Power slide physics exploit fixed.
  • TDM scoreboard not updating fixed.
  • in-game browser now remembers your sorting preferences.
  • Short names won't mess up the health bar anymore.
  • A problem with blood (FPS bug?) fixed.

WEAPON BALANCE TWEAKS:

  • SR8 gets 5 bullets again, unzooms when getting hit with 15% damage.
  • SPAS-12 does less damage and knockback when getting hit.
  • UMP45 does more damage.
  • PSG-1 back to 8 bullets and chest hits bleed out.
